Just payed the truck off!!!
Paid mine off last month, got the title and Ford credit approved me for 43K to buy a new one and help them out. Ain't that nice! New house I bought last year I figured by the time I make 90 I'll have it paid off.

The good news is I only have to work until I'm 83.
The bad news is I'm an exotic dancer.
ok, but 385/month for 12 years is over $55,000. What was the sticker price in '99?
after all of the aftermarket investments i have added to my truck, the wife says there is no way in hell i can get rid of it !! time to get it paid off, and enjoy it. im ok with that though.
I know it is tough, but seriously if at all possible, pay one off and then put payments in the bank, forcing yourself to live with the vehicle you paid off until you have enough to pay cash for the next one. Then NEVER buy another vehicle that you can't pay cash for. Making payments to yourself and earning interest instead of paying it is sooo much better. Made my last car payment in 1986 and will never again buy more of a car or truck for myself or my wife than what we can write a check for. BTW this 2008 Super Crew XLT was the first new vehicle we have purchased since 1994 - usually used (1 or 2 years old) is a far better choice financially.
