tinted tails and brake light

So I thought id try my hand at tinting my tails and 3rd brake light. Had a friend use this stuff called Transparent window tint that they use on model cars and his turned out really good and he told me how to do it so I tried it.......they look good, but my only thing is if you get up close theres ripples all over it where it was sprayed........idk if I just didnt let it dry enough before adding coats or what.....Anybody if theres a way to fix it? I also taped off my reverse light. Didnt want to go too dark, but what do yall think!?

Looks no different almost.. I would have gone a little heavier. Red and black go so well together.

I can tell its darker, I may end up going a little bit darker to see if I can get rid of the ripples that appear..idk how it happened, but you can see it when you look close enough

I would go a little darker and then wet sand and buff once you are done, that should work

Looks good though

Did you sand the lights before you painted? I had my tails tinted on my Cadillac CTS with VHT, which is probably the same thing as what you are describing. And for the ripples, this stuff is very thin when sprayed. You have to do very very light coats until you get your desired shade of tint. The only way to get rid of them is to sand them down and respray them.. Heres my CTS when I had them done.

I think plastic-x works good as a polish also.
