Work Truck -- Rubber Mat -- Easier to keep clean and looking decent.
Highway Cruiser -- Carpet -- Nicer, quieter, reasonably easy to keep clean with light wear.

I would rather have the rubber floor myself, alot easier to clean and also very hard to damage unlike carpet. But since my truck has carpet I put in Weathertech liners, its the next best thing to having all rubber floors.

I am also use to having rubber floors, my last 2 trucks had them and so does my work van, so I just got very use just jumping in with mud and snow on my boots and not worrying about it.

I have the rubber floor, and while I do like the ease of cleaning, The amount of dust accumulated in my truck due to the lack of absorbtion frankly pisses me off, and I like the homey feeling of carpet, as well as the way it holds a good smell alot better. It was nice when I used it for work, but now that its a street queen, weatherguards will do

I would go with black carpet, that is what I plan on doing when I have a little extra cash sitting around.

sometimes i think about swapping carpet in my truck, then it rains or snows and i chicken out, being able to get in with wet and/or muddy shoes is great.

i would agree, but between my regular cab, center console, floor transfer case shifter, and rubber mats, there would be no carpet left...

Depends on what you use the truck for. My sport trac had rubber floors and it was great. I went wheeling with it a lot and never worried about mud/snow/sand or anything else. It was insulated fine underneath, just as well as carpet.
But it doesn't look as nice, that's about the only bad thing I can say about it.

I love having a rubber floor in my truck, the only way to go. Easy to clean & no stains. Just buy some nice carpeted floor mats and replace them when they get stained.
