if you dont buy from discount tire you really should, in fact i highly recomend going there for this tire, and when you are there tell them you want certs for all 4 tires, (its like a warranty but they call it a cert) they will either repair it for free of replace it if they cant repair it, then you just have to buy the new cert....

o and they will sell them to you when ever, you dont even have to buy the tires from them, you can buy a brand new truck drive straight to discount and buy certs for the tires you have, hell they can be old tires too as long as they are not worn down too far

Ya that is were I got them from.....I get free bal + rotations for free....As I just said in my other post I just saw that I bought the cert coverage so I should be covered....which is good because I don't feel like spending another 150.00 bucks for shi*ty tire.

Yeah, it was smack in the middle of the tread. And if not, they are only 6 mos old, w/ road hazard coverage.

I do...I checked out there site and it says that the discount tire I am going to is the closet dealer to me...but it also shows some dealers that are not even in business anymore.....

Maybe it is just Discount tires website....IDk

Will be going there first thing in the morning.

I'll make sure to let everyone know the outcome.

That hurts. I'd try some better tires, but theres really nothing you can do with sidewalls like that except call it bad luck.

New construction, neighborhoods where there are renovations...even the paved shoulders are full of nails, screws and all sorts of metal waiting to meet your tire. I had a house gutted and new sheet rock installed and they dropped sheet rock screws everywhere. For the last year every time I go to this house at least once a month I still find nails and screws in the street where I park in front of the house.
Good luck.

I'm pretty happy with mine. They came OEM in the 275/65/18 on my FX4. not loud, pretty decent ride, not very aggressive looking though

they aren't the best tires offroad, but they hold their own compared to most A/T's

on the street, they're okay also...get a little loose when it's wet out...but you really shouldn't be driving that way in the rain either

got 24,000 miles so far, and a little less than 1/2 worn. if I wanted to, I could probably squeeze 40,000 out of them without issue. If I wanted a general tire that was good in most areas, I wouldn't hesitate to buy them for a replacement

The funny thing is that I am a carpenter and in 10 yrs I have yet (knock on wood) to get a nail in a tire. Actually the only time that I have even had a flat on any "vehicle" that was work related was this fall when back filling a foundation with our Bobcat, the tire must have been low and when I was turning the steel track push against the bead and rolled the bead off the tire.

As for the Goodyear AT/S, my truck came with them and they are now my winter tires. Like Tylus said, they are a good all around tire. I wouldn't think twice about getting another set.

To the both of you: You have the LT right?

Also, Do you think that the LT is a must or would I be fine with the P rated?

I towed this summer a few times up to 9-9,600 pounds and did not notice the General having prob. with the weight. I had about 40-42 pounds of air in them at that time.

Thanks,
Josh

Put on real tires. These General Ameritracs are just s**t. I hate mine, but money is an object and I want BFG A/T KOs that are $200 ea.
