Problems installing LED 3rd light

I removed my OEM 3rd brake light today to install the APC LED 3rd brake light. The OEM has three bulb sockets but the LED has one plug and it does not fit any of the OEM sockets. Am I missing something, I thought these were plug and play.

You need to pull the harness out more. There is a plug in there that you disconnect from the harness with the stock 3 ends and plug in the new light.

When I changed out my light this summer, I had to remove the 2 plastic retainers at the rear of the headliner to reach the factory harness plug. I unplugged the factory light, and replaced it with the new led light. The new light plugged into the factory harness.

This thread has pics, in the 2nd one you can see the clip that holds the excess harness that you need to pull through some more to unhook the light harness from. I didn't have to pull the headliner down any, I just popped the plastic clip out and pulled the harness through some so I could hook up the new light. Clear as mud?

Wow. 5 minute job. That was easy. I went in through the top. Got some pliers and yanked out the piece of crap plastic grommet holding it in. And there it was just waiting for my LED's.Thanks again

Yeah, you dont need to pull down the liner at all, just break those clips and pull through.
