I put 6 70# sand bags in the back of the truck and I can get it to break lose and fish tail when I want to have fun.

quick question.. 4H has to be engaged before 55mph, so can i be gassing it at 40mph and switch to 4H? or do i have to release the gas? does it matter? oh and 4H can be used at any mph as long as its switched before 55mph right?

I've been gently gassing it while switching to 4H. There were no clunks or any ill effects.
Yes, 4H can be used at any kph, as long as it's not switched any higher than 80 kph

I have my Shell on with a bunch of tools and recovery equipment, that is enough weight to cover it.

I thought that there was no speed limit for switching into 4hi. I do it at 110 km/h without any issues. From what I remember the manual just said not to switch if the wheels are spinning.

The truck can be rolling when engaging 4H.

I'm 99.9% sure the manual specifies no faster than 80. I read it somewhere and I'm pretty sure it was in the manual.

I'll take another gander at the manual next time I am bored.

I just checked, 2wd-4hi max speed 55 mph/88 kph, good to know, I never had any issues with the 4x4 system in my 05 that I had for three years/120,000 km's and I was doing the 110km/h switch. I shall now cease that practice.

Keep in mind that there's a Note right underneath that sentence.

It says to not perform that operation over 45 mph/72 km/h when the outside temperature is below 32F/0C, which is normally the case. Glad I went to read it over again myself.
