Stay in 2wd if your driving over 55. Why in the world would you need 4wd driving over 55? I stay in 2wd almost all winter, even when plowing most of the time.

i dont need to yet. but i heard people that live in the snow use 4H when driving, and i dont think they drive under 55 in a 65 limit highway

I got 360lbs in the back, 6 60lb bags.....but I'm also the idiot who bought a 4x2 to drive through cleveland winters . Even with the weight the truck slides around pretty good so I just ordered a set of blizzaks. Keep those on the stockers for the wintertime and Throw the 23" s331 wheels on in the summer and i'm good to go. First truck I had when I was 16 was an old pos 4x2 ram and I made it through 3 winters fine with that so 4x2 doesn't bother me.

Last couple of years I've had five 80lb bags of morton water softner salt in the back (400 lbs). Need 'em for the water softener anyway so take them out in the spring and use them...then buy new ones for the next year. Helps keep the rear end planted better while taking off from a stop or turning...even in 4-wheel. Gotta be careful not to sling the back end though...that extra weight creates more momentum and will make the rear end slide more if you're not carefull.
