2008 vs 2009
I meant in all comparable physical points of the truck. If there was a '08 and a '09 both with the same mileage and same price, I'd take the '09
What does that have to do with anything? You're insane if you think I would sell my brand new truck that has less than 4000 miles on it.. I wasn't comparing resale values.. maybe you missed the point of my post..
that's exactly my point.. they arent the same price.. lol you gotta take all things into consideration, else your just picking and choosing.. I already said the new 2009 F-150 was the better performer, but is it so much better that its worth 10-15k more than a new 2008? I think not.. like I said in my previous post.. even with $10,000... you can do a lot to correct any shortcomings of the 2008 model.
After going to the Miami Auto Show this weekend, I was doing the same thing in my head on the way home. They had one 1 F150 on the floor (King Ranch) and a SCAB on the turntable. They didn't have power hooked up to the KR so I couldn't adjust the seat or pedals BUT I do know I like the Castano leather better than the new leather, the dash was a little busy, and the seat release for the back seats is under the seat which sucks if you build a storage box or anything under there. I can live with the back end of the truck, but not sure if I could stomach looking at the front every day. The larger front doors are nice. Even tho it was 2wd, the bedsides seemed lower than my 05 FX4 or even my old boss's 98 2wd. All things considered without driving one, I'll still keep my 05 but I will take the $50 gift card from Ford to go test drive a new one.
yes, the 09's will cost more, but it doesn't mean that you can't also wheel and deal on them too. The dealer will come down in price if he's desperate to make a sale. The 39k or 40k price you quote, that seems like MSRP. Invoice price is probably around 36k. and then they might have a small rebate or current owner trade in incentive. I always shoot for invoice or less and then subtract any rebates. Heck, I got below invoice on my wife's Honda 2 years ago and people say Honda dealers never come down in price.
Pricing is much better for the '08s, sometimes I wished I tried getting a '07 - '08 Lariat since there were deals of around $22k for them partially used with less than 40k miles, considering I got my '04 with 61k for $14,9.. But my truck was the last vehicle my dad drove before he passed so I find it hard to consider getting rid of it.
remove your lift kit parts, sell it (as long as you still have stock parts laying around) , keep your tires/wheels then put stock wheels on 08, sell it. maybe you get little more money but yes it will be pain in the butt to do this LOL!
Keep your 08!
YOMAN!

I think the '04-'08's are by far the best looking 1/2 ton ever produced. Ford ruined the '09's with the ugly rear end IMO.....I can't believe they allowed that taillight design to fly, it doesn't go at all with the rest of the truck.
I personally would take a great deal on '08 over a new '09 in a heartbeat. The tranny and few extra horses with the '09 are not worth it to me.

I'm not trying to argue... was just simply stating..
I tried to be fairly conservative in the price spent on my mods, I actually spent closer to $6500 after all was said in done.. and there were a few other minor add-ons not included in the list below..
ProComp lift/labor - 1100
Toyo MT 35" - 1200
4.56 regear - 1400
20" ProComp wheels - 800
Magnaflow Exhaust - 500
AF1 3.0 Intake - 400
X3 Tuner - 425
total - $5825
Obviously, any of these trucks would lose out on their real world "value" the moment they ride off the lot, regardless of mileage.. the 2009 would be no exception.. If you wanted to amount for the "real world of sales" add about another $5-7k to each of the trucks actual cost and that should compensate..
09 wins the battle in everything but price.
if Ford ever produces a Raptor F-150 and specs it out with the bigger V-8 (6.2?) and keeps all the drivetrain upgrades...well my RoushCharged F-150 will be gone PDQ.
