Is that just as good? And switching to base to synthetic blend I have been advised against by a few people and told thats how oil leaks and such happen when oil is changed with many different types of oil

"Premium Synthetic Blend 5W20" is XO-5W20-QSP.

Yep, sorry I didn't get back sooner, but it is the same stuff you can buy in the dealership, just a lot cheaper. And listed in the owners manual.

I was going to use mobile 1 5W20 since 35k is plenty early enough to make the synthetic swap. Always used it on my Trans Ams. Is the motorcraft stuff supposed to be better?????? I have been using mobile 1 in the wifes Focus ST since we got it.

I wouldn't say better, but definitely a lot cheaper. It is not a full synthetic, but a blend of dino and synthetic. I have used their recommended brand for years, with no reason to change. Inexpensive, easy to get, and it works.
Nothing wrong with the Mobil 1, but I change oil and filter every 3-4k, and that would be more than I want to spend.

I have the marble sound on start-up (2004 f-150 screw 5.4). I have used motorcraft filters and motorcraft 5w-20 since new (now 48,000 miles). Also tried castrol syntec 5w-20 recently, but that didn't make a difference.
Truck started ticking on start-up around 36,000 miles and now has a load "marble clinking around sound" at start-up, which quiets down after a few seconds. Dealer said that it's an issue with the lash adjusters, and suggested replacement of all 24 to cure the noise. They also stated that the noise wouldn't hurt the engine (says so on the ford TSB they showed me, but I dont' know how a noise that loud isn't eventually going to hurt the engine).

Noise is not going to hurt the engine, it's metal touching metal that will do some harm. As long as there is enough film strength in the oil to keep these banging metal parts from touching every thing is fine, as long as you can live with the noise.

Does anyone know why is going wrong with the cam phasers? Why they make noise and need to be replaced?

Also, I don't understand the attempt to fix the rattle by changing oil? What is the objective there?

Not true, I have used Mobil 1, K&N, Bosch and Motorcraft and I have never heard this rattle in 55,000 miles.
