My truck headlight did not come out as bad as your but I have a little spider webbing but not sure if it was from the oven or from staining on the plastic trying to seperate the two pieces apart. I can only tell at night with the headlight on and if I get out and look at them up close. During the day I can't tell. Good Luck to everybody who tries it.

I did mine over the weekend and they turned out great! I haven't taken any pics yet though, but once I do I will post them. I'm actually thinking about taking them to a body shop and having them painted to match the body color.

Thumbs up Thanks for the how to Tylus!!

Had a bad hl bulb so I decided it was time to try the blacked out headlight deal thanks to Tylus and this thread and all went as well as can be expected. Here's some pics: Only thing I did different was tape the chrome behind the amber side marker. I think it looks good. Anyone else? Thanks again Tylus.

find a auto part / paint supply store, write down colour code they mix a into the spay can for you, then paint it yourself cost $20 max per can.

for this mod i did few times, i was over confident doing it till i over cook one of the tail light, working on one while baking another one, leave it just a bit too long lens bend out of shape not much but enough to buy a replacement.

I actually used the rustolium all surface paint in a can. Bonds to plastic pretty good.

It is a littly glossier. I used a satin finish black instead of flat.

Nice job mitch, looks like it turned out real well, now you just need some stealth bulbs to go into the turn signals.

Thanks JW. What are stealth bulbs? Sorry if that's a dumb question, but I've never heard of them.

They're a chrome bulb that blends into the housing but shine amber when turned on.

Exactly what he said, although I said stealth earlier, that brand is a little pricey, but you can find a lot of 3157 chrome bulbs for alot cheaper. They just get rid of that amber look during the day.
