DIY Black Headlights Done...again lots of pics...not 56k friendly

Finally got them done and installed...I have had plenty of time the last few days to work on them

Parts List:
Krylon Fusion Flat Black Paint
300 Grit Sandpaper
2 tubes of outdoor RTV silicone sealant
Painting Masking Tape
Oven at 250F
Out the Door Price...under $10

The Look is awesome IMO.

Stock Shiny Light




Stocky Shiny Light Tore Apart



Stock Shiny Light Prepped for Paint



Not So Shiny

I've got 3 hour blocks between feedings.

Luckily I've got a solid schedule to work with right now

That does look really good...and a lot cheaper then buying new headlights...

How long did you put them in the oven for?

5 minutes at a time...and then eventually I just did 10 minute blocks. you might want to wear mechanics gloves though. My fingertips weren't so happy with me.

just have to be slow and patient. the OEM silicone/glue holds the lens pretty tightly

That looks great. Didnt you break one of the lights? If so, you did a good job putting it together!!

yeah , Krazy Glue is my best friend right now.

i like the look alot, how do yal think it would look on a red 150?, i'd hate to spend the time doing it and then not being able to go back to stock, any input?

can you post some pics so we all can see?

it it's a Lariat...I'd say no. A FX4...yes. Maybe a XLT/STX also.

mine look good IMO because they tie in with the Fender flares and the bed trim
