Aftermarkey Gears - Which whine the least?

The shop I'm thinking about taking my truck to quoted me on a 4.10 superior ring and pinion set. How are these noise wise? What else would you recommend? I do a lot of highway driving and don't want any noise the stock ones don't make already. Thanks!

No gear should whine, unless it is installed incorrectly.

So even if you go with cheap ones, to the real super expensive gears, if installed correctly, they will NOT whine, if and only if they are not damaged and are not installed incorrectly.

Go with Yukons or Precission. I've had both and you'll be good to go with those brands.

Completely wrong Manual. Cheap gears WILL whine. Just ask all of the people who bought FRPP 4.10 gears for the 8.8" rear end and ended up getting gears that had been produced by someone else. I believe they were Motives but don't hold me to that.

Then they were not manufactured correctly. Which is another point I failed to mention. Yukon and Precision for example use better manufacturing methods, and have a tighter QC on their gears, thus, you won't get bad gears.

When you get cheap, you really need to be careful, and even then, you can get burnt.

But I've seen cheap gears go by ok with no whine. So it's like playing the lottery, sort of speak.

No... I was stating by "damaged" as in they are for example, warped or not heat treated properly. Which is a possiblility.

Other than that, my Motives have been serving me well for about 12k now.
