dumb bastards

Ah well... aftermarket was even cheaper. Hopefully it holds up.

I have been only using OEM regulators from ford all were under warranty. But I am curios how long the aftermarket ones will last. Let us know!!

I'm not sure which is bad. My driver's side window will hesitate when I press the button then will come up. I don't have any problems with it going down, just coming back up. I can hear the motor engage, but pauses, then comes up? Under warranty, just haven't taken the time to get it fixed.....

take it in ASAP... otherwise if you're like me you'll keep procrastinating till its too late.

Sounds like maybe your regulator is going bad and starting to slip???

I could probably speak more intelligently about it after this weekend... my new regulator is supposed to be here today (don't use Autozone... they suck at shipping... I upgraded to 2-day shipping and then it took them another 2 full days to ship the damn thing out so it still takes a week to get the part) so I will be installing it this weekend.

I got a little aggravated at it the other day and ended up rolling the window up and down about 20 times just to show it who's boss. To my surprise it didn't argue back. Now it I can just figure out how to do this to my wife I may be on to something. LOL. I don't drive it much anymore, about once a week since I got my Escort ZX2. Lovin' the gas mileage more and more. Something about big boys in little cars....

DO NOT BUY FROM AUTOZONE

they don't understand the difference between Heritage and the new body style. So after waiting a week to get my part that I paid 2-day shipping for, it was the wrong part.

Looks like I'll be ordering one through a Ford dealer on Tuesday

Scratch that... after lots of searching I don't think there are any aftermarket regulators for our trucks. As you can see in my previous post, Autozone screwed up... the one they sent was for the older body style.

I ended up ordering an OEM regulator & motor from Fast Parts Network for $130 shipped (dealer wanted $180)

Some people have mentioned that you can get just the regulator, but I cannot seem to find it that way.

go to my other post a few threads down. I think the OP was azmidget91 anyways I explained how to do it. It takes 30min and $90 to $150 depending on where you get your regulator assembly from

I was quoted 198 at my ford dealer which is why I opted to fix mine sine it was mainly that the cable came unwound

Question button or regulator??

My window pauses when I hit the up button, and the auto down stopped working. Sometimes its fine, sometimes it takes three presses (tries) to get it to go up.

button or regulator??

Button. I have a friend with an 06 who had the button fail. Ford replaced the switch, window works fine. Mine, the regulator broke, window fell in the door. Had to replace the whole regulator.
