08 XL Price

My parents are looking at plane jane 08 F-150 regular cab XL. It has A/C, tilt/cruise, CD player, & the towing package (just the 4 pin wiring harness). They can get it for $14,900 on the road. Does that sounds about right?

Not really. My local dealers are offering them for 9995.00. See if they will come down lower. I paid 14K for my 08 STX.

MSRP on this truck is $19,790. On the road means taxes, tags, etc is included, so $14,900. isn't bad. I'm sure someone will come along to say they can get it cheaper, but oh well. Shop around.

Edit: I forgot to add the AC. MSRP is $20,640.00

The ones being used as ad-units have literally NO options. they use that to get you in the dealer, but very few people would be cool with those trucks as-is...so you end up buying a 15k (or more) truck easily.

Yea, MSRP is around $20k I believe, so I thought $14,900 OTR was pretty decent + they are giving dad $2200 for his 91 F-150 Custom (also plane jane) with 130k miles. The other dealers have been around $15,300 to $16k with similiar trucks and offering only $2000 for his truck.

Fairly plain jane at least-XL with the argent exterior trim, steel silver wheels, no interior carpet. I believe it does have cloth 60/40 seats however.

Heck, I wasn't even "cool" with mine...

Look at all the mods I had to add...

But some people like them... because it allows them to really mod up their truck to their taste and personality. Some people don't feel like they can merely walk into a dealer and buy personality. Some need to achieve this personalization through modification.

However, I really wish they would've offered a v8, 4x4, super cab, with a 5 speed stick...

The 2008 XL we just bought at work was delivered for $11,545. Regular cab, long bed (Rhino lined), tow package, cloth captain's chairs, AM/FM, 5.4L and automatic tranny. It really gets up and goes! It's a lot of truck for $11K.

You said a mouthful. They're giving these things away down there. Up here in Canada we're still paying $20K for a truck like that.

Sounds like an "OK" deal...I'm sure you could haggle a little more though. I bought a similar vehicle 2 months ago for right around 13k. It also had AC, Cruise, Tilt, CD Player, reg cab short bed with a 5 speed manual.
