There are only 2 hoses - inlet and outlet. To figure out which is inlet, fire it up and turn the heater on full blast. The hotter of the 2 is the inlet.

I was thinking about this and I dont think it could work unless I am understanding this wrong.

How does cutting off hot coolant from flowing through the heater core make the air come out of the vents cooler? You said it yourself the heater core radiats heat into the cab (but not through the vents). From what I understand you are stopping the heat from the core but the air coming from the vents is not affected by this. Even if the heater core is hot and running when the A/C is on the air isnt passing through the heater core therefor stopping the heater core from gettign hot isnt going to cool off the air any more than it already is.

I may be wrong here but thats the way I see it.

And even if the heater core was putting off heat ingot the cabin the air should still blow the same temperature right at the vents. Correct?

Unless if it's possibly on max and it is sucking the air to be cooled from near the heater core and then not having time or ability to get it as cold if hot water is circulating thru the core.

where does the recirculating air get sucked in anyways? This would solve our little dilema here. I dotn think the OP is going to get back on here. He must not be a regular.

OK OK ... heres a Pic....

its the Blue handled ball valve inline on inlet heater hose..... Ive since then removed the blue handle from valve... for looks...

the reason it works... is because the heater core and the A./C core?.. are seperated by a cheap a$$ thin piece of plastic... (diverter door)... the heat is so hot it is bleeding though ...

go stand in your kitchen with the oven on... and see how good a/c in your kitchen works.???/

this nocked 10 degress off temp coming out of my vents...

Back to a question I had. Do you think not having coolant circulating might cause damage to the heater core? Maybe even contribute to stopping up?

isnt the A/C core the thing on the front end of the truck that looks like a radiator? And the heater core should be behond the engine on the cab side. Correct?

The heater core is inside the big black plastic box, under the dash on the passenger side.

That thing in the front is the air conditioner condenser
