Whats the outside temp??
I get that also in the 80's but when its 107 outside its struggling to get to 46

 

I finally did this to my 2006 after learning about it last year. I live in Phoenix and noticed that when starting the truck for the first time in the day, the A/C didn't take too long to start blowing cold.

However, after it having run once in day, the heat soak would impact how quickly the A/C would cool down on subsequent starts. Given ambient Phoenix summer temps, it would stay hot 8-9 hrs after it was run in the morning.

Today it was a really mild April day in Phoenix, maybe mid 80s. Truck idling in my drive way read 42 degrees with the flow cut off, enabled it only went up 1 or 2 degrees. Again, I think I will see the difference on subsequent starts in the same day.

I used the 3/4 PEX valve from Lowes, the ends are just barely big enough for the 3/4 inch hose. Something bigger would have been nice but I didn't see any better alternatives at Lowes.
