Ya i blew mine at about 50k miles. And my second one at about 51k miles. So im on my third one now and I don't know if this one is going to last.

The first one had the edge on it for about 30k miles and different levels with lots of towing and general hard driving on it. The second one had the edge on it for about 950 miles with no towing. The third one has had stock programming for about 150 miles and is shifting funny like the second one did. So i don't have high hopes for this one. Just not sure if im gonna tune this one or not.

My dads 05 also went out at 60k miles also with a lot of towing and hard miles. Only tuned once for about 100 miles. His second one was also acting funny.

So we are just waiting to see what happens with them. And on top of that the trans in our H2 went out at the same time. So in the last month we have gone through 4 transmissions. Yea. Good times.

Oh, great! Now the Tundra girls have something to latch on to! All Fords have weak transmissions!

Really, sorry for all of your misfortunes, but could it be someting else in the driveline causing stresses? I mean, all of you have blown several transmissions eah - not one a piece. I's be looking at something else in the driveline or programming from Ford, or scrap the Edge you have in common. Just my $0.02.

No, don't be silly. Changing your shift pressures and shift points has absolutely no effect on the transmission.

On a side note... the Edge may cause your reverse lamps to burn out quicker.

I have xcal2 n 305/35/24s..

well if ford would make a tranny that wasn't soooo soft and a motor with some more hp & tq i wouldn't have to modify the thing!!!

I must agree with you. How could anyone argue with that point? Pure genius!

Had mine rebuilt at 39K, also had Edge. Now I have custom VMP tunes and tranny seems to do amazing. I would def. get rid of the Edge.

I seriously considered getting an Edge and then someone said something that made perfect sense to me. If simply reprogramming the engine and tranny could generate better gas mileage and more power wouldn't Ford have done that to start with? Companies are beating themselves up to improve MPG and power rating in the retail channels. I'm thinking they found a happy, safe balance of everything and went with that. As much as I'd love to squeeze more from my truck, as long as I'm sticking with stock components I think I'll stick with my stock settings. The Edge may have nothing to do with the problems detailed above, but coincidences aren't something I typically believe in. Cause -> Effect.
