Anybody using DuraFlap Mudflaps?

I've been doing some searching in the forums and haven't seen anything on them. They look like a really nice mudflap... I'm not a big fan of the molded plastic ones, the cheap flat plastic ones, or the stock ford mudflaps. In my opinion the molded/plastic ones all look kind of cheap (no offense to those that use them).

Now that I have my Corsa exhaust on I need some mudflaps to keep the tip clean... as you can see below, the tip sits right behind the rear wheel.

It will also be nice to keep dirt/sand off my step bars (I have to drive through the alley to get to my garage so its a constant source of dirt).

So I've never really liked the look of mudflaps, but even worse is the look of a dirty truck. Lots of searching lead me to Duraflaps (http://www.duraflap.com/ford-f150-b.html)
Here is a picture from their website

These are the best looking mudflaps I've found, and they look like they are really easy to install if I get the predrilled ones (they even come with SS hardware). I wanted to get the ones without the stainless steel weight, but I was worried they might "sail" at highway speeds... I've seen some semi mudflaps that fly back almost horizontal on the highway. But an email to the company resolved that concern - they said the mudflaps are stiff enough to not fly up.

Down to my questions - anybody on here use these mudflaps? Did you get them with or without the Stainless steel weights? Any advice on the install process?

I thought I'd get some input before I order them... probably on Monday, but maybe this afternoon yet (you know how hard the mod bug can bite)

Thanks

hmmm... no replies... but I couldn't wait so I went ahead and ordered them. Talking to the guy on the phone, he asked all kinds of questions - I guess they have 2 different standard lengths and he asked if I towed a lot as then they recommend the longer ones to protect the trailer. Then he asked if I had the truck lifted or bigger tires - apparently they can customize the size for these options.

Anyway, I'm impressed with them so far... I'll post some pictures when they come in next week and let you know how it turns out.

wish I could have answered for you...up in Washington, I usually just bought the cheapest things I could find. AutoZone used to sell some nice 3/8" thick rubber flaps that had a 4x8" Ford oval embossed

the law up there says you have to have flaps if the bottom of the bumper is higher than the center of the rear wheel

dura-flaps

Hi,

Yep, I have them. Check out my gallery for pictures. I worked with Dennis to get the right fit for the front due to my leveling kit. they shipped me a standard length rear and a custom length front. He also mailed me a template to drill out the holes for proper fit. I had to do some tweaking of the hole placement, but generally I'm happy except how far the fronts stick out. It's just a lot of work to take them off, redrill, and re-apply.

I think you'll like the duraflaps if it's a heavy duty flap you want that won't wear out. I was in the same boat - I did not like the molded flaps.

NP. the front ones came undrilled by my request. Dennis was awesome at helping me get the right template. But you can see from the pictures, that I need to take off the flaps and move them about 1/4" in, just so they look better. The coverage is good. I got long ones to protect my trailer and my exhaust.

ha... you must think I have super vision... I can't pick up the 1/4" error from your pictures... but I imagine that in person its the sort of thing that can bug you, once you know its there.

I just got a shipping notification from UPS... my Duraflaps should be here on Friday... looks like I have plans for Saturday now
