Talking Saved the Truck

As some of y'all might remember, I had a thread about 2 wks ago about my truck being on the chopping block.

Another Truck Has to Go Thread

Well, after looking around and shaking lots of slimy hands at dealerships, I found my trucks Savior. At noon today I bought a 2005 Dodge Durango Limited AWD with the "HEMI". Yeah, I know, I sold out. But I couldn't pass up a fully loaded SUV with 3rd row seating and 40k miles for $20k.

I'll get some pics up tomarrow with the Ford and Dodge together. I find it quite ironic.

Have a good night.

btw, the Hemi is amazing in the power department. I cannot believe the giddy-up and go. Nail the gas and it takes off like a monkey with scalded *****.

Shame I lost my Mustang GT though.

Congrats on saving the truck! But keep an eye on the rockers and door bottoms. My buddy bought one two years ago and has had it in the shop once for fix and repaint. He just noticed the other day that the rust is bubbling again! I know a few others to do the same thing. It's quite a shame that dodge has this problem because they are nice and quick grocery getters!

Keeping the Stang with 3 kids wasn't an option. And I wanted to keep the truck. I managed to get the best of both worlds IMO.

1. No Minivan
2. 2 Vehicles with V-8's that have *****.

Well at least you kept the screw to drive for when the dodge breaks down or has to be in the shop. Now it looks looks like you will be driving your screw even more than before !

My 305hp Titan is faster than your 345hp Dodge.

Seriously, congrats on the SUV. The Durangos are nice, as long as you plan on keeping it long term.

I'm getting 15 mpg in the Durango, so realistically, gas is the same. It just has a bigger tank...and yes, the Mustang was a GT.

My wife "officially" claimed the Durango, so yes, I get the Screw as my DD finally. I had it for about 1 week when I first bought it in 2006.

3 Kids will fit in the back of the Screw...but have you ever been on a road trip with brothers/sisters and been forced to sit virtually leg to leg? I remember those days in an old Lincoln Town Car (1978?). There is no way in heck I'm putting myself through that as the parent.

If you're happy with the durango, that's all that matters!
