Also how does sound deadening change with trim level? Is it year dependent?
2004 - New body style has 5.4 with 3v
1997-2004 (heritage) has 5.4 with 2v

the XL pretty much has 0 sound deadening. it gets better the higher the trim, the better noise deadening

today i sold my ranger and now i'm serious about buying a f150.
i know what options i want.. my new question is did all the different trims come with the option of having the center shifter for the auto? i've only seen them so far in the fx4 and king ranch

The flareside only comes in 6.5 length and can be had on STX, XLT, and FX4 models.

This is turning into a "my daddys friends cousin says that the king ranches get gold plated screws and the Harleys are built in the Harley Davidson Factory"

You can learn about the availability of option combinations yourself by building your dream truck online here:

hope this helps

I GOT ONE YESTERDAY
06 Lariat 5.4 auto with shifter on console, black leather, fully loaded, only thing missing i wanted is running boards, sub, and back up sensor
now i'm searching for a 2 1/2" leveling kit for it and i'm going to buy some 35/12.5r20's mt's, i'm going to wait on buying new 20's untill i get some more money in the bank...thats my next question with that size of tire how wide and how much offset should i get for the new wheels? and i'm i going to be alright running that wide of a tire on the stock 20's for now? from what people have said i should be alright with the stock wheels i just wanna double check.

Autosprings 2.5"

^ best leveling kit on the market IMO

the 35x12.5x20 will fit your truck just fine. you may get a little rub at full lock. just depends on the tire and how aggressive the tread is.

congrats on the purchase, now where are the pics?
