How much juice you need for the stereo?! Or are you doing a few light bars, neon, backup lights and a fridge for a center console?

unless you are going to be running on board air compressors at 100% cycle or onboard welders 200 amps is way overkill i have the stock 130amp and offraod lights and onboard air and a 850 watt amp running 2 10" and the alternator doesnt even break a sweat ohh yea and i have e fans all running at the same time i am pulling like 90 amps

Well My lights dim when My sytem in my car hits hard. I already have a 2.4 Farad Capacitor but I guess I need to upgrade the alternator or the battery. I just have the regular stock battery now. I have about 1,700 Watts just for my sound system plus I need to power my in-dash monitor and my Flip-Down Monitor while I have my lights on. I hopefully can just get on of those yellow top batteries instead of an alternator but we'll see what everyone else thinks.

Bigtruck311,

I see you have a Optima Yellow Top Battery do you think that will help me besides replacing my alt.

i cant say yes or no, but i can tell you i am pulling way more amps than you and i have no problems with dimming lights or anything and my charging system is stock exept for the yellow top, it is a great batt. had it for a year no problems have ran it dead twice when a relay for my offroad lights went out and once when i had a short in my air compressor, and after a jump it charged right back up to perfect amperage, i would recomend it yes

16-20 amps for light system. that's assuming 100 watt bulbs on both headlights, and the usuall other lights.

Checked my MH last month, with tow car and all lights lite, it draws 24 amps. And that's a lot of lights.

I just went over my birthsheets on my amps they total for the amount of 1,454 Watts not 1,700 Watts Will this mean I will only need the Optima Yellow Top Battery? I just wanna make sure I need to upgrade my Battery not my Alt.

no way the amps are pulling 141 amps they have like 30 amp fuses that blow if you pull more than that so i think he needs to look at the stat on the amps to see the current draw

I just did the math using the number Chris Gave earlier and my car w/ lights and sytem on draw 142 Amps. So this means I should be able to just put in a Optima Yellow Top Battery. Right?
