New gears, "Rough" in deceleration??

So, I had my 4.88's put in last week and have noticed there is some "roughness" upon letting off the gas into deceleration. There is also some rough feeling when cruising around 60 mph. I took it back to the shop and we went for a ride, they said they didnt feel anything out of the norm, or hear a whine from the gears, ok?... Im just concerned there is an underlying problem or am i OCD about the potential problems when swapping gears?? The truck has 45000 miles (about) on it and 1500 of the most recent miles where with the lift and stock 3.73's. What do you guys think this "roughness im feeling could be?

on gas or cruise at higher speeds 55+, felt through gas pedel...
on deceleration (no brakes, just let off gas from higher speed) through floor/gas pedel....

I know very little about the signs of or problems with the powertrain, so any help is greatly appreciated!

Your tires may need to be balanced......

My truck would shake pretty good around 55 when I got my new tires put on. Got them balanced again and it drives fine now.

I dont think its the tires, the only reason i say that is because it isnt really a shake, just a roughness (if that makes any sense).

I beleive it has to be somewhere in the drivetrain, hopefully not the gears....

Could be the bearings back there. Did they replace them? Maybe they torqued something wrong and ruined your bearings. Either way if this appeared after the gear change then it has to be from that. Good Luck

Mine does something similiar it sounds like. When applying or letting off the gas there is a serious jerk. It doesn't happen all the time but it happens a lot.

I'm having a new set of gears put in again tomorrow so I'll see if it still does it. I'm hoping no.

mbogosia--I assume they did replace bearings. i supplied the gears and they supplied the install kits, fluids, and labor....How quick will failure happen if it was a bearing? I cant get the truck back in for a couple of weeks...

Tonka--I didnt check the OD...did you ever get new shocks, I finally got around to getting pics just need to upload them.

Super FX4--Could you elaborate? I expected them to be more "smooth", but in no way is this a terrible roughness, but noticibly there...

JeremyGSU--I sometimes get the jerk you are talking about but my truck has seemingly always done that. this isnt really a "jerk" with the new gears...not sure what the jerk is just know its been there for a while on mine..

Maybe engine braking?

I drive stick everyday, and I know when to let go of the pedal... but I've gotten jerked around a few times messing around.
