Installed - took about 1 hour maybe hour and 15 minutes.

Driver side took longer because I did not know how to get the door panel off and broke 2 of the plastic post that hold the speaker in,,,, oh well will order replacements from the dealer.

Look kick a## - I am very happy with them.

Now what to do with the factory set???

Just wait for the 6.2 engine next year. It will surely have a much higher tow rating.

Tow Mirrors In and no blinkers

Hey guys... got the mirrors on the rig today and found a smidge of an issue. I had only 8 wires in the harness. I have read everything in this forum about moving around pins. I didnt have any wires in the number 8 spot. The first six of 8 slots had wires and then what looked slots 9 and 10. But I cant be completely sure wihtout seeing a diagram for a 2005. Has anyone else come across this when doing this on a 05 FX4? Just trying to get a feel for this. I aint the best electrician but dont feel like taking to the shop to get this done.

Talking

After seeing some pictures on this forum I decide to upgrade to Towing Mirrors, they look very nice. This is my problem, I opened the door panel and checked the connector, for my surprise just 4 wires, (2 y, 1 black, 1 D. blue), to have the turn signals, heated mirrors and puddle lights I need new wires(I think). Anyone have the diagram to find out where I have to connect new wires, please. Thanks (my first time on this forum)

this is the link for the connector photo

Scan through the pages of this thread the wiring changes are there but it might be 4 or 5 pages in.

Also check out Tasca ford - I believe they have the wiring diagram on their website.

IMO if you have painted bumpers go with the painted, if you have chrome go with that.

Alright, I got the mirrors installed this weekend. I have an 04 FX4 that only had power mirrors.

I moved the ground from location 9 to 8 as indicated in the instructions and everything works fine unless the rear defrost is on. At that point the turn signals don't blink in the mirror. Also the heat in the mirror is not working.

Second Question, I was going to hook up the puddle lamp on the mirror but I did not have a pin on the mirror in location 11. I have pins on the mirror in 1,3,4,5,6,8, and 9,10 The mirrors are equipped with the puddle lamp so I am not sure what is going on.

Any thoughts would be great.
