Can someone measure the distance from window to furthest edge of mirror? I want to see how much more they stick out. I might not fit in garage with them. THANKS!

Are the wiring diagrams from Tascas website all i need to figure this out. I understand pretty well how to run the puddle wire off the dome lights.

moving that pin was easy, I popped off the red cover from the harness, and used a small screw driver to release the pin, moved it to slot 9. took less than a minute.

are you sure on the pin number? i just dont want to confuse ppl here. pin 9 on the new mirrors is the "exterior rear view mirror with memory"!!

it should go to pin 8 which is the only ground in the new mirrors.....

for the grounds, you should have 3 grounds right now if u have power, heat, and turn. ford used a ground for each option. pins 2, 9, and 11

the new mirrors all share a ground somewhere hidden in the mirror and moved it to pin 8.

basically ford swapped pin 8 and 11 in the different years. in the 04-06, pin 8 was dome and pin 11 was ground......in 07-09, pin 8 is ground and pin 11 is dome.

what i did was move either pin 2 or 9 to pin 8. you should not have anything in the pin 8 slot now, if you do let me know...it means u already have the wiring for dome. then i would cut the wire in pin 11 about 4 inches past the cennector and tap that wire into the dome wire under the drivers door seal.

do the same for each mirror and u will be good to go!!!

And Tasca, how about the part # for the pins?? I'd love to order some so I can properly attach the puddle lamp wire. Some guys are just cutting off the wire, but I'd like the pins that fit that connector.

Measures, get this, 16" from the passenger window. 16.5" from the drivers window.

Is that from the bottom of the window?
With factory mirrors I get 13'' at bottom of window 15" at where the window starts to angle.

Heater button light blinking

I'm thinking it's happening because I didnt move any wires around, right? Ground problem maybe?
I have factory heat w/button, signals and power. I just installed my mirrors from Tasca and it all went well except I have the exact same problem with the blinking dash light. Then after a few minutes of driving my mirror signals quit working. I think this is related to a timer on the heat button switch. I haven't altered any wiring as I thought it safer to see what the original plug would do first. Labman, great advice on this thread, you didn't utilize the heated mirror option? Has anyone resolved this issue?

Did you guys swap the ground wire in the plug before you hooked it up? You have to do that if you have an 04 or 05.

Thats what I figured. I started thinking about it, when I was changing out my head unit, and had the heat button disconnected, the blinkers didnt work. I figured the old ground is crossed with the new heat button...or something like that. I will eventually fix this, but I'm tired of taking my door apart. At first, when I was trying to figure out the pin thing, I spent about 30 minutes looking at it like a retard. Can someone post a how to video on youTube?

Let me know how you resolve this, I will be tackling my mirrors this weekend. All you need to do is move the grounds right??
