Harley Rim Lug nuts

For those of you that have put the barley rims on. Can I use my existing lug nuts?

if the rim fits snuggly on the hub of the truck, and is centered, then you can use the flat lug nuts again.

if the rim does not fit snugly on the hub of the truck without any lug nuts then you need pointed lug nuts that center the wheel on the hub by means of the lug nuts.

Try 1-800-a local dealership.

If you're like me the direct lines to parts and service will be in your phone.

Yes but they might not look good, I believe Patman was refering to the older style lugnuts that were flat with a built on washer. If you are talking about your 05 and are using the 22" off of the newer Harley they use a tapered lugnut. I bought some Harleys off ebay. Lucky for me they included the lugnuts, though he was one short. My local dealer charged 15 bucks for a lug nut. I had the basic chrome 17" wheels and they used open ended ugly lugnuts hidden behind a centercap, but on the Harleys they have fancy closed lugnuts with open centercaps. I did use an open lunut for a while till I could get one from the dealer. I dont know if any of the other upgrade wheels included closed lugs or not, but if they didnt I dont think you will be happy with the look

The harley lugs also have a lip on them that the center caps snap on to.

I sold some lugs to a guy that bought the wheels at a good price, but the lugs cost him over $200.

The lugs have a manufacturer suggested list of $12.47 at the dealer.

I remember someone on here posted pics of a red FX4 with the Harley rims and they just used the stock lug nuts with the stock FX4 center caps on the Harley rims. Looked pretty good like that. Something you could consider...

Edit: here was the post with the pics of the Harley rims with FX4 center caps:

Interesting... I wonder if he had to do any modifications to get the FX4 caps on the Harley Rims. I kinda like the FX4 caps better anyway. I'll have to play around with it and see what works.

I'm surely not spending $200 more on lugs from the stealership.

So I guess the FX4 caps are just clipping onto the open lugs like normal. There is a bit of a gap between the cap and the rim that you can't tell in the pictures he posted. You'd have to get closer to see it.

so did you get your tires yet and actually tried to mount them on your truck? I guess I would try the FX4 caps first and see if you can live with the gap or not.

I need new nuts anyone recall the size of our nuts? 14x2 or something like that. The ones that came with my wheels are chrome and they are rusty. I hate chrome so I'm looking for some powder coated black.

That is what I am planning to do. I will be getting the tires in March sometime.
