I'm not a LEO, but I am a chaplain for the local PD in my town. I ride with these guys all the time. Never, and I mean never, have I seen one of them "abuse" their power. They do a disgusting job, a thankless job, and the one's I work with are very professional about it. They have to deal with people who are jerks to them while maintaining a professional demeanor, and I've seen them do it over and over again.

If the kid got a ticket it was because he broke a law, even if it is, in the opinion of many, a BS law. If you don't like the law, don't blame the cop for enforcing it. Work to change it, or just put up with it.

While I will agree with you that they do a job that goes unappreciated sometimes. I will also agree with the others in saying that there are those that do abuse their power. Do you honestly think that the LEO is going to do something unorthodox in front of you? I highly doubt it...

16 years old, driving a 5800 lb vehicle and already with two speeding tickets for 75 in a 45 and 74 in a 45, and now another for blasting illegal horns at a major intersection.

if i were your parents, you wouldnt be on the road any more.

If the cop wasn't full of himself he would have explained what he did wrong and let him go with a warning. Obviously he didn't realize it was a law.

Me and my mom got pulled over a while ago for running a stop sign. We didn't realize what we did until he told us. We told him neither of us saw it, which was the truth, and unlike a lot other cops, he put his job aside and let us go. He even gave us directions to where we needed to go because we were lost.

We need more cops like that.

I usually think before I blast my horns. If I see a motorcycle anywhere I won't even hit them. When I was driving today I was at stop light behind some guy on his phone when the light changed. I waited almost 4 seconds before I gave him a "toot." Got his attention. The only time I really sound it is if I'm in a near accident because of some idiot, or I see a friend.
