Couldn't have put it better myself!

Bleh accused of the same thing....
But then again the whole compensating arguement is used for EVERYTHING.
I think its just the person trying to make themselves feel better about themselves cus their jealous

I dont see it as investing money in a truck. I spend money to drive what I really want to. I almost see it as entertainment. I love what I drive, and if spending money that way makes me happy than I see no problem in that.
Giorgio is right. We're not the problem, the problem is that the toys are too expensive.

i think the biggest thing is time. before the fiance and the dog, i'd be out in the shop until 1 in the morning, weekends, you name it. she sqwaks at that now. i try to limit coming home to about 9 and shes ok with it. if i'm really nice, she'll even come to a couple shows with me, but family time is important.
I'm sure there are folks that don't approve of my mods. I get the biggest grief from the 102" stainless steel whip antenna. But the way I figure it. My bills are paid, my house projects are underway, I am pretty much in good shape. I can't take the money with me. My wife and parents are in good shape. So why not spend the $$ on what I like? And who the flip cares if it is too big, or too redneck or whatever... I'll own the title Redneck for sure. I am not afraid of it.
Didn't expect this many replies from this topic, but good to know I'm not the only one. To put in my $.02, I'm getting married in Oct this year. We both fight for the computer at night...her to look at wedding stuff and rings, and me to look up lift kits and brush guards. It's a never ending battle and she's a great girl and wouldn't trade her for the world. As for other people buying stuff I agree. I spend my $$$ on sprite and the truck. I don't drink, smoke, drugs, or go to bars and drop a few hundred dollars. I have never been late on a bill, nor do I have an exorbantly high amount of debt. I'm doing well for myself and figure I'll take the hassle and have the truck I want before I die. I do plan on paying off the tires before the lift and getting some $$$ together for the wedding, but once that's done back to the truck. Thanks for all the input.

It's all about perspective. My wife thought I was nuts for dropping over $400 on a custom tune, but then we wached million dollar auctions last night and a 1964 GT40 sold for around $2.5 million. She was fairly understanding after that.
First things first, Dribone, that has got to be the SEXIEST single cab I have ever seen. I want mine to sit about that same height.
Second, my parents used to give me grief about spending money on my truck. But when I pointed out that I was the one who bought it, paid for insurance and most importantly, drove it all the time, I'm gonna have it the way I wanna have it. I personally see it as being the basis for the whole automotive industry. If you cant buy what you want, make what you have the way you want it. So what if it means spending a little more on it. Like has been said before, you cant take it with you, so why not use it while you're here. Good luck with all the weddings guys...may it be the happiest day of your life (except the day you bought your truck)!!

Stick with the Honda! I love the smooth useable power of the CRF450. I had an 05 YZ450F and man that thing was a monster out of the box. Hard to keep the front end down just ***** to the walls power. I found being on a smoother bike made me way faster. Ride Red!

just tonight I was went to Wal-Mart parked towards the front, for obvious reasons. If I park far away there is always some douche that parks next to me, plus the possibility it being more likely to be vandalized. Anyways, I'm walking out and there is a guy standing next to a van about 20' away smoking a cig, little suspicious, I didn't know what he was going to do. Well I cut the distance in half and put my cart away and he comes up to me and says "I hope you don't mind me asking but what size tires you got" I tell him. Then he says "That is a gorgeous truck." I thanked him, and walked away feeling good.

My friend told me this and I ran with it. Just mod the truck then use the phrase....
