go go gadget tailgate

well i put a dei trunk release solenoid on my tailgate along with a power lock actuator and a ez-down and with the help of my ca671 alarms trunk opening feature i have a wirelessly electric opening tailgate

im still grinin from ear to ear about this, btw cost was $95 and took about an hour to install but does require drilling in case anyone was wondering

id be happy just doing the power lock acuator on mine. looks great tho.

Im guessing no auto up? if you did a power acuator it could be done, or a rigged window motor or something. would take more creativity tho

Very neat mod, and not to be the jerk on here but someone will ask sooner or later, what made you want to do this mod, when does it come in handy?

thats sounds really cool. Even if it is not real functional, I am sure a lot of us have spent, more than $95 on something just because we think its cool. I would like to hear more on this. Thanks

Why is it not functional? There is a premade kit available for the tailgate but it cost more than $95 and does not include the dei part.

I dont know about the other parts but the EZ down is $55 shipped from Greg at GMI-Sales. He is a member here and here is a link to his ebay auction..

I noticed the dei trunk release solenoid runs about $20-$25 shipped
