traded my 05 scab 4x4 in yesterday for a brand new 08 double cab 4x4 tacoma. i will miss the ford but i wont miss the 12 mpg. i may not have a huge v8 anymore but for my purposes the 4.0 v6 will do just fine, also 20mpg anyway by peoples.

Sorry to see you go - I looked at a Tacoma a year or so ago just for grins - way too small for me! But to each his own..

The Taco is a good little truck, doesn't compare to an F150 cause they are in different size classes, but the Taco certainly kicks the Rangers ***...has there ever been a good or nice looking Ranger in history? I don't think there ever has been.

Sweet! The Tacoma is by far the best midsize truck, by FAR. Great little truck. My buddy has one lifted 5" with nitto muds and supercharged, its an awesome truck.

I had a 2002 little 4 banger Tacoma Pre-runner (the off-road looking one), and it was an AMAZING truck. For a little 4cyl engine it pulled my 18foot boat like a champ. Great truck....traded it in for my 150 now. Good luck with it. I never had a problem with mine in the few years I owned it and always took it off-roading (fits great in narrow trails). I aggree that they are the best looking small truck on the market!

Are you kidding me? The new Tacos are a giant heap of plastic...the angles on the wheel wells are terrible, and the proportions of the bed-to-cab are way off....just like the Tundra.

And yes, the Ranger has been a DAMN good looking truck if I may say so myself

PS, going from a worst case possible of 12mpg to a best case scenario of 20mpg while driving 15,000 miles a year = $1,500 best case scenario in gas savings. Once you figure the loss you took selling your truck, and the hit of buying the new truck... let's just say it's gonna take you the better part of a decade to realize any "savings."

Oh well....

If I only kept my '99... I'd would have saved about $60k... that's a lot of money.
