Yup, my '01. R.I.P.

According to the New 2008 EPA guidelines, you are only getting 302 Miles on a 21 G Tank, about 18 MPG Hwy for the vehicle you purchased. Good luck with your new truck

well.. the tacoma has good gas mileage hella good resale on it and will last me +10 years unlike my ford. im not knocking f150s but some of you guys r just bashing tacomas w/o even any prior experience with it and to those of you who r doing so, you need to grow up.

Good resale? are you taking into account the higher purchase price? subtract the two and your doing no better than a American made truck.

PS, going from a worst case possible of 12mpg to a best case scenario of 20mpg while driving 15,000 miles a year = $1,500 best case scenario in gas savings. Once you figure the loss you took selling your truck, and the hit of buying the new truck... let's just say it's gonna take you the better part of a decade to realize any "savings."

Oh well....[/QUOTE]

well good point. but in +10 years my ford wud have been worth what? maybe 6k, if that. meanwhile the tacoma will still be worth 10k. in that perspective i acutally just break even from selling it in 10 years. either way im loosing 15k on either truck but with the tacoma i will save $40 everytime i fill up my tank, and well.. its quite a bit of savings.

These trucks are not worth the price tag they got on them, all things considered. Good truck though.

If those Rangers float your guys boats all the more power to you, personally I'd be seen at a Toyota dealer long before a Ford dealer if I had to buy a barbie truck. Never liked the Rangers, some people must though, they still make them.

I hope you have better luck with your Tacoma than most other people are having. Toyota is having a lot of problems with their trucks lately.
The Tacomas are known for tailgates that bend easily, rear suspensions that bottom out when you load them to half of what they are rated for, 6-speed auto trannys failing, auto trannys trucks that suddenly lurch while you are sitting at a stoplight, clutch pedals that squeak and piston slap.
Toyota used to make nice trucks, but times have changed and the domestics have caught up to them.
Oh and about Toyota being so expensive because they are the most American-made, ummm....what??? Toyota still imports over half of the vehicles they sell in the United States and in the case of the Tacoma, the cabs and beds are made in Mexico and infact many of the Tacomas are made in Mexico (made at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mexico in Baja De California, Mexico as well as made at New United Motor Manufacturing in Fremont, California).
I used to want an '05 or newer Tacoma, but with all the problems Toyota is having, I'll think that I will stick with Ford. At least with an F-150 I can use it like a truck is supposed to be built without it falling apart on me.

Wow, I guess if you can get past how ugly the Toyota trucks are these days, then more power to you. I just can't believe that anyone would pay $25,000 for a half-pint truck. I thought those things were more like $15,000. Enjoy your new toy.

I am kind of ticked off that auto manufacturers are focusing on large trucks lately... like what ever happened to the small, v8, shortbed regular cab truck with the 5 speed?! I'd never trade my Dak... I haven't found anything yet to even think about replacing it... even though I'm never going to get rid of it.

You will love the Tacoma, I have owned a 05 for almost 3 years now and it is a great daily driver, I probably drive the superduty once a month since getting it.

And 20 mpg is a reality, I regularly go to Houston from OKC and get around 21 mpg.

You will find the Tacoma handily out accelerates the F150 in stock form. Its fun to embarrass them from stop lights

My V6 F150 will be a Tacoma.

Trust me.

Even my 6000 lb mammoth with a golf cart motor pushing it will beat a Tacoma.

Why?

Because you are getting a Toy Yoda!

(Sorry I couldn't help myself...)
