Well, I wouldn't be attached to any vehicle if I could "turn it around" and it's worth more than I bought it for. Sell it. Make the coin, buy another; I really doubt you could. Consumer Reports stopped giving a blanket "recommend" to Toyota due to problems. Good luck with the truck, EVERY mechanical item made on the planet has quirks and problems. Tell us how you like the interior at year 10. We've had Toyotas, Nissan, and Mercedes. Pretty much only like the Benz. Good mileage, hauls serious a@@, and surprisingly cheap for parts. Cool features. The others are great when they are relatively new, but the interiors just don't hold up. The Nissan ( 300ZX) has an absolutely bullet proof V6. Our Toyota (84) pickup was junk. Three transmissions, underpowered, and just like the Nissan, the interior did not hold up. Weird plastic covered foam everywhere that cracked. Seats were torn up. Nissan electronics failed all the time, but it could be because of the year. Mother in-laws Camry is about 10 years old now, and the interior is intact but almost dry rotted. Seats tear easily and the dash is cracked all over. Looks really tired. Runs OK though. My '97 F150 went 11 years for me ( bought in early '96) , 149K miles with only the starter and heater core replaced. Truck was pretty much pristine except for some knicks and scratches here and there. Totally dry underneath too. Sold it in one day on Craigslist for 5K and bought it for 19,800, so that's about $1300 per year my cost not including parts, gas, etc. My '89 Chevrolet Cheyenne ( cheapest full size back then) went 197K miles w/ a starter, water pump and one of the TBI injectors replaced. Interior held up well, but suspension got sloppy early on, and it, just like our S10 Blazer and our '96 Yukon, leaked all over the place.
Anyway, good luck and enjoy.

Hey man - change your sig.

GL with the Toyo. No ill will here. Hope you enjoy. Let us know how you like it. Maybe you didn't need the full sized truck if so, you may have made a great decision (Like I said in earlier post - the Taco kills the Ranger). Best of luck to you! Oh and it says something that you are still here contributing with posts...

Those suck on ice and snow, the other day i pulled out 3 or so of those (i guess it does have to do with the driver also) the back of those trucks are really light. Gas mileage would be good, but who buys a truck for gas mileage?????

looked into a tacoma before we got the 150. Seemed like they were trying not to get us into one. Could not get the payment below 500 for a damn small truck. They were nice, but the payments were terrible and the f150 is so much more of a truck.. The current tacomas are the only nice thing toyota has left. Good luck! id post some links to some toyota sites but im banned from em all

TRev, I had the V6, and the only way I ever got over 16 mpg was on the interstate. There have been numerous mpg threads over at at Toyotanation about disputing the so called 20+ mpg club, but most of them had the 4 bangers. Who knows, who cares.....so long as your happy with your purchase. Too bad I wasn't and will never make that mistake again.

Some folks like mid sized trucks, but I'm a full sized kind of guy.

And PULEASE don't let anyone at either Toyota or Nissan try to sell you on the bull that their "mid-size" truck gets dramatically better gas mileage than a 2WD F150 5.4L. With a tail wind, the 07 Nissan Frontier V6 4 door crew cab 2WD I traded got 17.5 MPG city and 21MPG highway. And that was driving it like an old f@rt (which I am). Yes, the Toy is supposed to get about 2MPG better than the Frontier but on premium gas. I'm averaging 1.5MPG less than the Fronty did in my '08 s'crew on regular gas, but now I actually have enough room and hauling capacity to enjoy the ride.

Have you ever really owned one? I'm 6'2" and my bro is 6'4" we both have rangers and have more than enough leg room in the ext. cab...as for the frame I pulled a 3100 lb pop-up with mine for years no prob.
