Throttle body spacer tests

Well Im going to run some tests. I just bought a airaid throttle body spacer. (if i dont like it or theres no performance gains, i will return it and get my money back, yes money back, im 100% positive) Time to finally put all the myths to rest. I will do the test in my truck on the same road, within the same temp, same wind, etc. Basically, I will run my truck on the 1/4 mile and put on the tb within 10 min (hopefully) and run it again. The following day, I will take it to get dyno'd, one with and one without the tb on. Keep in mind, i have a pro comp stg. 2 lift with 35s. We will finally see if airaid is telling the truth or, like everyone else says, they are an overpriced paper weight. Stay tuned.

Throttle body spacers do work, just not on Multiport fuel injected engines like ours. There is simply nothing for then to do. Put an eFan on if you want some quick, easy HP.

All you are doing is increasing manifold volume. The stock manifoldvolume is ~10.8 liters and you are adding roughly ~0.112 so you get a manifold volume of ~10.912.

bootleg, i was lookin at your mods, im a little surprised you arent gettin more power than you are with everything you've got. was it dyno'd after you've had everything done to it? shoot before i lifted it, i had and edge, exhaust, and a cai and ran a 1/4 mile in 15.1 secs.

I'm real glad I looked into the debate over the thottle body spacer. I'll spend my 120 bucks on say... a tank of gas?

Question, what is an eFan and what does it do?

E fans = Electric fans. They replace the engine mounted / driven clutch fan and replace it with a high volume thermostatically controlled electric fan. This reduces drag on the engine and frees up HP. That is why you almost universally see electric fans on 4 cylinder engine equipped vehicles.

If I recall correctly, the first vehicles to have those were the 1970s Audi Fox, and Volkswagen Dasher. (Both miserable cars by the way...)

You know I really dont know why they ddn't put this stuff on at the factory!!!
Heck Mustangs, Crown vics have E fans, my 96 P71 has both E fans and clutch fans OEM. So why did they put this humongus clutch fan on this truck?
I cleaned out my tool box over the weekend and lost about 300 pounds >>noticed a big performance gain.
Sorry to jack the TB spacer thread.. but is there a factory E fan set up that would bolt up to the F150 ? Ford Part #?
