Remote Start

Anyone know somewhere online I can read instructions for installing a remote start on our trucks? I'm contemplating buying the CA671 for my truck soon and would like to see whats involved... I work on arcade games though so I don't think I will have too much of a problem

remote starts are really easy to install with only a few wires. Power, ground, ignition, start, and a disable switch. Just get a Chilton manual with the wire diagrams for your truck and get in there. Only concern that I can see is the PATS system might give you troubles. But I'm not certain either way on that. Wait a little while and someone will pop in that knows.

i installed a ca-670 in my 04 about 2months ago and would say the install is pretty straight forward. there is a pats bypass module that you will need to buy along with the remote start system.

your best bet for the best answer would be to email travis at kcautosound.

there is a website kcautosounds.com i think. a lot of people have bought theirs through him. SUPPOSEDLY, and I say that because I don't have first hand experience. He has really good prices, great customer service, and he can even prewire it so it is easier to install. If I was to buy it'd probably be through him..

This might sound stupid... but I've never had a truck with remote start with a manual transmission. What happens if you leave it in 1st and try to remote start it?

If on flat level ground, the truck will roll forwards, start, and drive until it hits something usually.

That would SUCK.

That 4.10 I put in can not stall if it I drop it on a slight incline...

I think it’s time to put a wheel stopper down or can you say, “super size that please”

I used kcautosound and was very pleased with instructions and he was available the first time I tried to call and guided me through the last part of install.

remote starts for manual transmissions look for the neutral safety switch before it will try to start.

Give Travis a call at KCAutosound, his instructions are in color and include pictures.
