Good luck with your new truck. If you like the looks better and the ride etc enjoy it. Chevy, Ford , Dodge, Toyota, Nissan they will all have probs so buy what you like just don't expect a huge reliability improvement. C ya.

Let's all get real. The guy has a legit beef. If he wasn't happy with Ford, why not let it go? I must admit, Ford's service isn't the best in the world. There have been plenty of guys that went from Chevy to Ford, though - me for one! I drove a 2005 Chevy Silverado SS, two years later, '07 Ford HD. Let's not let this guy's personal decision affect the attitudes of good Ford owners. By the way, don't we get enough attitude from wives and girlfriends? Have fun with the new truck, dude. - Og

I owned an 03' Z71. Biggest POS EVER had. In shop 8-10 times for stupid stuff over 1 1/2 years. F150 with 40k and not a single problem. What's the deal with GMC and Active Fuel Management. Sounds like MDS on the Dodges. Is this another case of cylinder deactivation. If so, you can scratch any thought of ever switching to Chevy/GMC for me. I don't like the idea of half my cylinders functioning and the others not. I've heard Dodge is scrapping the MDS thing..

I had a 97 Tahoe and basicly broke down every week. I traded it in for an 05 Tahoe for my wife. It is at the 3 year mark and at 50k miles and Have had zero problems. Good ride, good power, no complants here. If it wasnt for gas prices I would get into another one. But we are keeping my F150 and getting into something a little smaller for her and the kids.

It sucks you had problems with your dealer. It sucks even worse that you now have to be seen in public driving a Chevy.

I loved my F150 when I first bought it, but wayyyyy too many problems. I'm so done with FORD! Good luck to everybody on here, this is the best truck forum online, PERIOD!

Good luck with your new truck. They're a pretty sharp looking truck.

FWIW, I initially moved to Ford because of all the issues I had with not one, but two GMC's....well one was a Chev, but same dealio.

Good luck with your Chevy, I'm not crazy about the looks or the torque of the 5.3, however I do like the standard locking rear differential on the Z-71 package! ...................

It's all in the eye of the beholder. My friend married an ugly women. However, he thinks she is beautiful and that's all that matters.

Exactly, the problems weren't with Ford. It was with the Dealer.

Hence why I posted what I did but I guess some of you guys don't understand that.
