4.6 vs 5.4 Again

the speedo will go to 105, its off from my tires, and hell it will burry 120 if i just want to hold the trip reset for about 30 seconds while turning on the key then 30 seconds after the key is turned on the guages will all max out and i just scroll threw the options and get to my tach. too bad it cant hit 120 until i have the speed limiter removed.
there is one thing in this whole entire forum that i would have to agree with ridge on and that is that i have owned two 04 model f150s wit the 5.4 and both did stick right at 105 and hold. both with the factory bfgs

I'd rather have a Chevy 302 instead of a Ford 302. The Chevy one I beleive made more power than the Ford 302 ever did, from the factory.

Is it too late for me to say I'm ok with my 4.6??? Would I like the 5.4, that's a toss up. If the 5.4 didn't have the injector or plug issues then definitely yes. Don't get the panties in a bunch over that comment, it's simply an opinion. I know those issues aren't as common like the bearings spinning in the ol GM 231's back in the 80's (bit more than a few friends back then) but those things are a deterrent for some who are paranoid of such things. Wait a second, what was the topic...

Please do everyone on this forum a favor and sell your truck and buy a civic. You will fit in much better on those forums and then you can start a thread " My 1.6L is faster then your lawnmower".

haha....one of the best posts of this thread.
I finally agree with Ridge on something.
Boss 302 > Chevy 302
Read an old article about a Ford Boss Mustang owner with the 302 in it. The article title was "My car likes to fart sparks" It was basically a review of the car from a car&driver guy. They were running 12's in the quarter with it, that is faster than most big blocks made in the 60's-70's

Personally, I don't see the 4.6's having enough ooomph to go past 120MPH... with a tuner of course.
I need some hard evidence to believe that. Even with straight pipes and an open air box...
EDIT: I MIGHT beleive it, but it would take a long, long straight away.

also 7000 rpms isnt much considering a stock forged steel Boss 302 crankshaft will handle 10,000 rpm before centrifical force flings it apart. (This has been documented by Coates Engineering during their rotary valve head development)
A stock cast iron 302 crankshaft will handle at least 7500 rpm, though I wouldnt bet on its integrity at that speed, the same way with the chevy 302. ive herd of people holding stock 302's at redline for as long as a full minute, redline in a 302 is around 7500 i belive, and the engine held out. why was they doing this?? who the hell knows.
