I've got my truck back and everything is better than new! I couldn't be happier, not to mention I've got another 2" of lift!

What did you expect?

I dont recall saying a mach is faster than a cobra, I said I see machs and cobra compete really hard in the 1/8th but never said they were faster...

My whole point is

1. Cobra
2. Mach/Trans am & SS (Mach has an edge)
3.Mustang GT

im sorry but the mach doesnt even have the edge against a ls1. it would be number 3 with the mustang being number 4

u proved nothing, the only thing a mach one is good for is bottom end, thats it, when it comes to a ls1 it wont run with it in the top end, the smaller motor does rev quicker so if its got a chance it will be going threw the gears, but if it doesnt get ahead by then it will be butthurtage for the mach1

yea a stock ss/trans will take a mach in top speed, like over 120mph but you are an idiot if you race at those speeds... but just like in the vidoe with the camaro vs. mach with the same mods the mach was 2-3 car lengths ahead by 80mph and it was getting worse...

I dont even know why I am arguing with a guy that thinks a 4.6L truck is faster than a 5.4L truck...
And you were saying in another thread that a GT mustang was a v6

You lose. The end.

no i said the gt looked funny almost like a v6 trying to be a gt but then i figured it out, it had gtr stickers and generic side scoops.

and if they had the same mod the out come would be the same the transam winning, you can see a video all day, it doesnt mean the guy in the transam could drive.

Maybe it is a liitle lighter than the Screw, but I expected a noticable difference in acceleration and didn't see it.
I should KNOW to steer clear the heck away from threads like this. Folks are VERY passionate about their trucks, and the engine is a key feature of a truck.

I intentionally bought a 2 year old 5.4L rather than a brand new 5.6. (It was a toss up between a VERY low milage XLT 5.4L 4x4, and a new STX 4.6L 4x4, I got more than the 5.4 in the deal, and gave up less than 20K miles...). I have had neighbors with the older 4.6 engine that have had oiling problems, which I do not know was unique to that guys truck or what, but... All the 4.6s I have driven drive great, until you load the truck up enough to squish the springs, and try pulling a hill, or a bridge, or whatever, then you realize where the added power is. It's not how fast 0-60 that's important. It's how fast 0-60 with 1500lbs in the bed uphill that's important to me...

Well I think your being too general...the Mach I came basicaly in one configuration...5spd/DOHC 4.6 with no gear options (I THINK). Z28s, SSs, TAs, Formulas, and so on had several different options that effected performance greatly. The difference between base and full optioned was 45hp and then you had the difference between 6spd and auto...then there was gearing options. A stock Mach I very well may have out ran a stock Z28 or TA with no performance options (300hp cars with chitty gears), but as I said before I know for a fact I could out run one with my WS6 Vert with the 3.42 gear option. I raced and beat two of them back when they first came out...and that was with a heavy *** convertible. I dont have to post any 0-60 times or videos of somebody else doing it...I did it. That was with 325HP auto car...my Hawk is a 345HP/6spd car and I can garentee you a stock Mach I would not out run it from a stop...on top end...straight...through the twisties or where ever. It just wont happen.

Whew... that was a fun read.

This is the ONE AND ONLY public warning for this thread. On topic or the door shuts on this one. I have removed 'several' posts.
