It sure would be nice to have that 7.3 though. Remember, you'll probably have a higher interest rate with an older vehicle as well but that may not be important to you. I didn't see if you have miles listed but if it's not at 36k then I'd say no way and drive yours until the warranty is over then think about switching.

The only thing i haul is a jetski, and I only have a little over 29000 miles on my truck

Anyway, I snapped some pictures of the 250 and they're in my gallery. Some of the pictures may look kind of grainy because i took it with my phone camera.

Well then I'd definitely wait until the 36k warranty comes around before thinking about anything else. There are a ton of Super Duty's out and they should drop quite a bit with the new Super Duty out. Don't rush into a decision thinking this is a once in a lifetime deal because it isn't. Do you really need a Super Duty since you're towing a jet ski only? If you plan on doing something like a big time lift then it would be an advantage to have the Super Duty over the F150 because your lift options are limitless and the Super Duty can handle it but I'm not sure if that's your plan anyways. I'd say wait for your warranty to run out and then go from there. With your patience you may be rewarded with a better Super Duty at a better price because it will give you time to look around.

The 4.6 handles the jetski fine but i want something to go offroad with, and the superduty seems to be cheaper than a new bodystyle f150 4x4. Thats why I'm looking at this truck. Plus I would put an 8'' lift and 37s on the SD and it wouldnt cost much more than a 6'' for my f150.

Anyway it will all depend on the price and what I can get for my truck. If this deal pans out then good but if not, then there will be another like it.

If the F250 runs good, and the suspension is still tight, then you would be a fool not to swap the trucks.

That F250 gets better mileage, the 7.3 is just getting broke in at 80K, and whoever buys it will be driving it many years after your F150 is dead and buried.

I traded my 7.3 PowerStroke for my F150, and I'll never go gas engine again.

Seriously, if that F250 is in good shape, it's more than worth it.

Just never ever buy the 6.0 version.

Well they're both gassers, which IMO defeats the purpose of an F-250. But, that 10 cylinder will pull pretty good too. You just have to take out a second or third mortgage on the house to pay the monthly gas bill.

And, I would NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER get an F-250 with the 5.4L, especially the old version with the 2V head and 260hp. It's gotta be either a diesel (first choice) or a V10. My buddy had a 2000 4wd F-250 with the 5.4L and he put a 10" lift on it and 40" tires. Looked sweet, but accelerated slower than a freaking snail. That, and 2mpg sucks ***.

I drove the truck today and I have to say it makes my f150 look like a soccer mom truck. The 250 has stiffer suspension, its a lot faster than my f150 and it gets 14mpg which is almost the same as my f150. The only thing I noticed was the steering seems to be a lot looser than my truck. I can move the wheel about a 1.5'' in either direction and it dosnt change which way I go. Is that normal or is something wrong?

that probably is normal for that truck...

i know the Ford Lightning (the last generation one) had alot of play in the steering wheel about 1-2 inches.

they also show that on BBC's/Speed's show Top Gear: http://paultan.org/archives/2006/02/...150-lightning/

Does he have a body lift on there? The steering extensions on some vehicles cause the steering wheel to have "play" like you're describing.

No body list the truck is completely stock. Is there a way to get rid of the slop in the steering?
