tough decision to make...

Well, I have the opprotunity to sell my F150 for a F250. The specs are below

My Truck

2005 Ford F150 Supercab Flareside
4.6 2wd
29000 miles

The F250

2001 F250 SuperCrew Lariat
7.3 4x4
80000 Miles
Price: 19000

So do you think I should jump on the F250 or let it go? I cant really justify getting the 250 but it gets the same gas mileage as me and its a supercrew 4x4 with a 7.3. The only thing i would tow would be a jetski but i would use the 250 offroad...something my 2wd dosnt really excel at. As it looks right now Im going to spring for the 250 unless some of you talk me out of it for some reason

EDIT: My other option is to lift my 2wd

250's are to big & heavy to be very good offroaders. With that said, do it. It's your truck, you have to drive it, do what makes you happy. I'd love to have a SD.

I was suprised to see that an 8.5 inch procomp was only 200 dollars more that a 6'' lift for my f150. Im going to go for the 250...helloooo 7.3

Most 7.3's came with PMR's as opposed to forged in 01 I believe. It may have been 00 or 02, someone will chime in. The engine is only good up to 450rwhp or so, so if you plan on modding it you're in for a disappointment. It's not too difficult to get up to 450rwhp on a diesel. I typed this for no reason if it's not the 01's.

no question...get the F250...I'd say to keep the F-150 if it was 4x4, but a 4x2 isn't up to snuff if your wanting to play...plus, that 7.3 has gobs of torque

The performance helps but im buying it mainly for the eas of an extra 8.5 inches of lift, some 37 or 40'' tires and off road capability.

Even 450rwhp would be faster than most vehicles on the road. Is there a way to tell what it is on the truck maybe a lable or something?

Are you crazy?

You have a brand new truck and you are going to trade it for a used truck that is at its prime to be a problem child? Don't do it man, come to your senses.
