Where both tires spinning? If both tires were spinning then a limited slip would not have helped in that situation. All a limited slip will do is make both tires spin, instead of just one. Just because you have limited slip it doesnt mean your tires wont spin in a low traction situation....they are just BETTER than a open diff in that situation.

Gotta be careful with locker (detriot) in rear, you will not feel comfy on the road (dry) and wet road too. cunk cunk cunk on the corner hehe...

I suggest you to get Detriot True Trac its best limit slip out there for your need.

did you try using the boat to push up against the trailer to get the truck started up the ramp? Of course it depends on how big/powerful your boat is, but I would assume if its heavy enough to make your truck spin on a ramp then it should have enough motor to just about push your truck up by its self. I know its illegal to powerload in some states, but I believe I would of tried it for sure in this situation. Just be sure and have it trimmed way up so you dont hit the ramp with the prop.

I work at a marina and launch / retrieve boats all the time in all sorts of conditions. (I also have a 4x4 with limited slip.) I'd also endorse using the boat to assist, but it's not for rookies. You've got the skeg, prop, water pump and a few other things to worry about. It does work though and it's pretty impressive when done correctly. Done incorrectly, it's real ugly.

Another thing that sometimes helps is gently applying the parking brake. This will cause your open rear end to shift power to the other side. Remember to release it when you're out though.

Repositioning would have been wise like mentioned above, or the parking brake thing, Iv'e never seen the boat assist but thats a great idea! Also instead of having your guys jump on the rear if it happens again have them push. You'd be surprised how little effort it takes to get going.
Don't be to embarased, everyone gets stuck sooner or later.

Well guys I did try it all at the ramp, repositioning my truck a little further out, & pushing it out with the boat would not help much, it was low tide & my prop & lower unit would of taken a dump on the edge of the concrete of the ramp. I know my Lariat on the ramp one wheel one spin & the other would grab, but it would always come out! Mind you I had street tires on the Lariet 22" now I have Nitto Terra's with those aggressive ***** everywhere & they where spining away!

Tires won't make much difference on a slick ramp.

Sometimes some rocky dirt or sand, strategically placed under the tires and a bit on the path they will take up the ramp, will give you enough traction to get some forward momentum.
