Cleaning the Inside of Headlights?

Any ideas on how to clean the INSIDE of the headlight lenses without breaking the factory seal?

Here is why I am asking:

Not really enough space to clean them through the bulb holes. To really get the inside of the lenses clean, you'd have to separate the backing from the lense using either a heat gun or the oven method.

Did you try a hair dryer through bulb holes? Hopefully moisture got in through there and a seal isn't broken.

If they are dryed spots, I would add some water, drain, and then use hair dryer.

Use distilled water, it has no mineral content to leave spots behind. Might try denatured alcohol if the distilled water does not work. Pour it in and swirl it around and pour it out. Good luck and let us know how it works out.

Be careful.

I used a Windex solution to swirl around inside a headlight on a '97 F150 that I used to own and it removed a lot of the chrome from the reflector.

Cost me nearly $70 to learn that lesson.

Any glass/window cleaner with ammonia is going to damage the chrome reflectors and may cloud the lens.

Where were you before I learned that lesson the hard way?

I learned it the hard way myself using Windex on clear plastic and it turned milky.
