This is how they broke in!!

So I was having a good day shopping with my little sister until I came out after eating to see this:

It's hard to see in the pics but the whole lock has smashed in about an inch. I don't know what they had to do, but it looks like all they did was break the plastic around the lock and then smash it with something and turned to cylinder to unlock the door! All they took was my radio which was a pioneer avic z1 and $2 I had in the ash tray.

THIS KIND OF **** PISSES ME OFF!!!!! But I figured I would let you guys see how they broke in to mine! Looks like the next mod is going to be a loud *** alarm system!!!!!!

HOPE THIS NEVER HAPPENS TO ANY OF YOU

I hate any kind of thief, especially a car/truck thief. I have a fantasy about catching one in the act and I just happen to have a baseball bat.......

Ya know they used to hang horse thieves, maybe we need some 18th century justice for autos.....

hit Travis up at www.kcautosound.com for your alarm. I know you're kicking yourself for not having on on there with that expensive *** radio. I lost my clarion monitor before I decided to put an alarm on it. Sometimes it doesn't stop them but maybe they'll see the flashing light and decide to move on to the next car.

classic screwdriver+hammer to the key cylinder trick... this is why I have opted for the rear screw mark LT handles with no key hole for my truck.

I like your idea but the lock is cheaper to replace than a new window, and alot less messy to clean up.

Regardless if you have an alarm, or no key hole, the a**holes are gonna find a way in. I've taken plenty reports where people get their cars broken into and when asked if it was locked, they say no. They would rather the theif just go in instead of breaking the window or locks. It does suck though.

actually the lock will cost just as much if not more than a new window depending how how much damage they do.. my dads door was quoted about $500 since there was bodywork and paint involved. besides window tint makes brakingin through a window just a little more time consuming... altho the cleanup is better. the more time and harder it is to break in and steal something the better. this is why I have no keyholes, window tint, and an very hard to remove headunit... that if disconected becomes practicaly worthless

That sucks. All the trucks on here getting broken into is making me think more and more that I need to get an alarm.

Well based on the pictures in this thread it looked like he just needs a new handle, and that by itself is much cheaper to replace than the window. But i do agree if they do damage the door and it needs to be repainted then it would cost more to repair, but the clean up will always be easier without broken glass.

I don't think that would make you feel any better if a thief stole your headunit but couldn't use it. You still had it stolen.

Put a NRA sticker on your drivers side window. This is proven to stop alot of crime to you and your vehicle. My single mother neighbor has one and she says she has it because it works! People think some harm will come to them if they commit a crime.

It's to bad we can install a small .22 pistol in the trucks door lock chamber or some type of small barrel. So when they attempt to get in it goes off and shoots them, down on the ground they go and there you will find your thief!
