I talked to Travis a couple days ago about the CA670. I have installed about 5 of his CA530 systems. They have a feature of setting up a preset time of 2 second crank. Our newer F150s and most fords have a anti-grind feature built into it. With the CA530 you can set it to 2 seconds crank and it will start the truck every time because it actually cranks the engine too long but with the anti-grind feature in the truck there is no worries. Travis said that is how they do the new Ford systems everyday.

Long story short. I noticed after reading the CA670 install manual's programming chart that it also has the 2.0 preset crank time on it. So I set up the system to do it on my friends truck and what do ya know. It works great. No need to run the tach wire.

Question Idiots Guide anyone?

I recently purchased an remote start system online and I am trying to find some kind of idiots guide to installing it, anyone got anything to help me out? How did you tap into the wires or what type of clips did you use?
Wish I had known about Travis's systems before I bought mine.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide

How many of you with the CA670 have someone ask "Is that a phone?" lol Happens to me a few times.

Just want to say a big thanks to travis. Prewire and directions were great.

Plus I had a question about getting the remote start working so I gave him a ring, and he spent 20 mins on the phone helping me set it up. Great customer service and he knows his stuff!

I swear all your responses to him are slightly varied and sound automated lol. Only kidding, I still am curious as to how it will handle troubling startups.

Yea I know, but its rare that you find good customer service. Just look at the roush grille threads and how they have no customer support about any information regarding their purchases.

Same here. Nobody pays attention to the siren. The horn gets your attention because it's a crazy random honk.

I installed the CA670 this weekend, but have a question. The shock sensor just doesnt appear to sense that well. I mean, if I flick the box with my finger, sure it goes off, but when I jump up and down in the bed, it might or might not go off. I have the sensitivity set to max on in and I attached to to a harness, lightly so that its hanging down. Thinking that with it hanging down that rocking motion would set it off.

Any ideas on setting this part of it up?

So when ordering, I do need the XK04 Ford Transponder Bypass Module? Anyone recommend the self leveling tilt sensor or telematics module? I think Im sold on Travis' kit.

you should be able to adjust that.. when hit the bed rail with the palm of my hand or kick the rear tires it goes off...

yes the XKO4 if you want to keep both keys without having a valet made...
