Try that with the ebay guy. Also the way Travis explained it to me was that he doesn't price his equipment to compete very hard with the internet pricing. His pricing is priced for more local customers. Kind of a catalog for his local dealers and retail customers. How can he sell something to someone local and then have them go to his website to only find it for much less. Yeah he's more for the product but he's there for you and loaded with years of installation knowledge.

Yea I think for an extra hundred bucks or so I would go with Travis's product just because of the customer service... Think about it, he knows these trucks inside and out and is willing to give advice on anything he can, it's worth it in my book.

I have yet to buy one from travis... but he prewires the kit for your truck from what I understand so its almost a plug & play deal, except for tapping into some fuses.

You tap lots of wires, but no fuses...In fact, I didn't even remove the fuse panel cover (right kick panel) during the install. It's very easy with his instruction set, and his pre-wire was great except for one wire that he mistakenly clipped. The programming part is tougher, but he's almost perfected the instructions for that.

Thanks for the clarification, I knew it was a logical install, and not to overwhelming just not sure of the details.

Sorry to correct you but just want to give you and others some info on his systems. The CA670 has a total of 20 connections.

5 at the ignition - Heater, Ignition, 12v Constant, Starter, Horn
3 at the PATS bypass for the XK04 bypass module
2 behind the headlight switch for parking lights and dome light
8 in kick panel - lock, unlock, ground, brake, door trigger, plus 3 wires for the keypad
1 wire behind your center console for heated mirrors
1 wire for the tach signal at the fuel injector

I know that seems like alot but Travis preps the harnesses on the systems so that when you mount the brain in the location he recommends all you have to do is route his taped up harnesses to the locations then make the connections. He makes it so simple and his instructions come with pictures with most vehicles and he gives you wire colors, locations and what they will do with your test light. If you get jammed up you can give him a call and he'll take care of ya.

Sounds like a stand up guy, with excellent business skills. I will be buying an alarm/remote start when I scrape up some cash.

Excellent post! I was lucky that I didn't need to get the tach signal. Mine has worked tachless just fine.

My truck is having a terrible time starting. The battery is fine, the starter is fine...it kicks over at full power but the damn thing won't start. How will the remote start handle a false startup? I'm thinking it's just the fuel draining back into the tank, and giving me dry starts. Going to change the fuel filter and see the results.

Stupid question, maybe, but did you plug the AK04 into the alarm brain? I had a similiar problem for a short while before I called Travis.

Ive had a few issues with my 06 starting up. I wonder too. It seems like to be more so when I have the edge in use ( not a 0 level, I return to 0 and seems to work fine ). But it happens random times almost for no reason. Have gas, only 10k miles, never had a starting issue with my 04

==> Almost ready for another Pismo Trip??? You fix your 4x4 yet, I wanna go for a ride in your beast??

Yes, just waiting for it to come in. Should be in tomorrow or the next day. Cant wait. Stupid Valentines day might be cutting into my install... damn gf

Are you two together now or is that a different girl? Hope all is well on that end. I def agree, a pismo trip should happen as soon as warmer weather gets here. I still gotta finish up the snowboarding season. I want to do something drastic before the next pismo trip, at least a body lift, and/or a rear locker, something.

My problem is everyday, everytime. Something is def wrong, it's obvious it has something to do with the fuel and/or fuel lines. Fuel Filter is just the first check and hopefully the fix. Maybe you should try that too.
