Dealers not "dealing" as much as I would think.

Dealers price there units high because there is always a big group of people that will pay that price. Oh and most women. Only someone with a good head on their shoulders gets discounts. You have to know how to walk the walk and talk the talk

If you ARE NOT one of those i think you would be smart and buy the vehicle. I have no problem writing a $450 check to ford credit for my truck each month. I don't because i am happy and i do not look back thinking i left money on the table. So it comes down to, can you afford it? If not, you shouldnt be looking at one.

Also the dealer is there for you to buy them, not give them away.
Could it be? We actually agree on something?

Not necessarily. Some dealers who are having poor sales will "drop their pants" right out of the gate for anyone who seems viable (pulse, breathing) and has a halfway decent credit score (620+). I've seen it, in fact I worked for one of those dealers.

Free to anyone buying a Ford, Mercury, or Lincoln product. This is called "X-Plan" pricing. Just ask your dealer for an x-plan price when you look at a new vehicle and get ahold of me and get a pin number for that price plan. I have and can get unlimited discounts so don't think you are too late to take advantage of this offer. Good luck to all and as always, buy AMERICAN!
Thanks FX, and I do buy american, there are 4 Fords in my driveway..

But how mant run?

That sticker price on a Lariat sure sounds low compared to what I remember when I bought my truck almost 2 years ago. Maybe they are really trying to lower the price. With the wheels, I think it would have been closer to $40,000, maybe $38,000+.

The price he is looking at is for the 4x2 and also has the "friends and family" X plan from the dealer.

I paid 29.4K out the door for the same options. Big difference, in that mine was an '06, though.

It pretty much doesn't matter what you pay, someone on here will chime in and say you got screwed because they paid $xxxxx less then you (nevermind the fact they are comparing apples to oranges). I paid X-plan on my '06 and "overpaid" according to this forum. As long as you think you are getting a fair deal that's all that matters. I'm sure you can get the truck for less then I paid, but getting X-plan was a fair deal for both myself and the dealer IMO.

Don't let the invoice fool you. The dealers still get their holdback after the sale. And somebody above me was talking about catching the dealers on a weak day. Well I am not gonna lie, thats what happened with me. I was the only one there on a Sunday and they were informed that they were competing with another dealer down the street. They ended up coming off the sticker 7500 OTD. I was happy.

Wow, so you are poor if you don't want to pay whatever the dealer wants?
Just wow.

Guess I'm poor, or stupid.

But I have a heck of a lot more money than you do, Anthony. So that makes you what? Super poor?
Just FYI, if you make payments you can't afford the truck.
Chris

Why are we blaming Ford because the dealers agree to sell below invoice. If I am not mistaken it is up to the dealer to decide how much they want to sell the vehicle. The manufacturer gives a recommended prices (MSRP) but the dealer can price it how they want. Its no different than suggested retail on other merchandise. If Sony suggest there x model tv sell for $5000 and Best Buy chooses to sell it for $4500 that is there choice.

Also if I am not mistaken Ford makes the same profit on every vehicle of the same model no matter what the dealer sells it for. Ford gets theres and the dealer gets anything above what they paid for the vehicle. If I am wrong please correct me.

i really resent your statement....i own a 2006 F150 and i am making payments....damn proud of it......sorry if ruin your stew by being a broke@55 in the USA........i am one of many working class americans left behind somehow in the system....i work as a paramedic attempting to save lives...what do you do? don't know and really don't care. i got a good deal but i don't have the money to go out and buy a 30k+ 4x4 truck and raise a family of three without a payment....glad you can do it...if you did.
