~9500 miles; took delivery on 10/31/06

1) No - haven't gotten anywhere near needing to pull the plugs
2) No vibe from the brakes (the truck has been put to work towing a horse trailer as well)
3) No
4) No
5) No
6) Aside from recall issues - the only things I have to take it in for are: driver's door speaker cuts out when the door is opened, EATC readout has some "bleed through" on the LCD (some characters are glowing when they should be off altogether - i.e. the °C symbol glows faintly even though it's displaying °F), and some oxidation on the wheel center caps. My wife complains about rattles coming from the bedliner although I don't think there's much we can do about that except turn up the stereo.

2006 STX 4.6

Only problem was a soft spongy brake pedel that was there when I bought the truck. Dealership bled brakes, no problem since. Towed camper back and forth to Florida twice since May and this little truck has been all I thought it would be. Outstanding. If I have one complaint it would be the truck is slightly underpowered. But then again I knew it wasn't a GT Stang when I bought it.

05 FX4 5.4 Scab, 3.73LS, built 3/05 at Dearborn. Currently at 31K.

1-5 - no problems so far other than the transmission clunk, fixed by reflashing the computer at ~5K
6) Lets see... Brake master cylinder failure at 400 miles (had truck for 4 days), replaced under warranty. Hood, roof, front fenders repainted and windsheild replaced at 11K (6months) because of terrible acid rain damage, has been fine since. Replaced TPS sensor at 25K (I did this myself because the dealer said they couldn't get my truck in for another 2 weeks, but it wouldn't make it 2miles without going into limp mode, TPS cost $60, 5 min to replace.) And just recently, the shifter handle cap broke, have yet to get it fixed.

Other than that, the truck has been great. I haul, tow, occasionally offroad, and generally use my truck for what it is intended for. I love the ride, interior, sound system (Audiophile), looks, the power is good (thanks to Edge!), and the drivetrain is solid. I'll buy another one when this one is worn out (will be a while).

Within the last 6 months at just under 30K miles I have had the transmission rebuilt once, and replaced 3 weeks later as the rebuilt did the exact same thing. 4X4 vacuum lines, solenoids, hubs and axles replaced.
Starter and flywheel replaced as a tooth broke off the flywheel after two transmission jobs, new catalytic converters both sides as they developed a leak.
New battery.
All this has happened sine July.

I got mine with 32k and it has 63k on it now.
The only things I have had happen is the limited slip issues and the uncomfortable seats with the hole in the drivers seat. Oh and clogged ac drain

I did have to replace the gauge cluster, because squirrel chewed on the wiring, and had to get it reflashed because there was slipping in the tranny, and those stock Continental Contitracs need replacing now at 17,3. but it's all good.

didn't we just have a huge thread about this? and you'll find most of those issues you've posted about are 9/10 times a 04-05 problem

Rotors Warped ( New caliper update problem fixed), Clicking drivers window, Headliner( TSB done, stupid ford tech did not fix right), Slight shudder, Corroded wire in passenger kick panel (bad splice from ford, no power to mirrors, drivers power seat and adj pedals...fixed myself),****ty shocks, hood flutter ( never got the chance to get the tsb done), leaky 3rd brake light (fixed), cam phasers are not to bad but you can hear them. I really think this is a great truck. Compared to the Mercedes and Audi's I have worked on these things are VERY reliable. Ford has def stepped up to the plate when it comes to quality with the 09. 04-08's are a different story but are still great trucks. Ford is on the right track.
