Its actually about 26% drivetrain loss on Fords with automatic transmissions.

The 5.4 3V motors, if actually allowed to turn enough rpms to hit their power peak at the rear wheels, generally make their 300 HP rating from what we've seen - they are not significantly under or over-rated, on average."

So I *probably* gained 37 HP which doesn't sound good, but 257 at the rw isn't too bad overall for a 3.25" AF1 and maggie exhaust. I can certainly feel the power gains when driving. I also think there is more there since I'm running really rich.

Considering the cost of mods; What is your cost per horsepower increase?

Well I may be wrong but once my fuel curve is fixed I should also see an improvement.

I'm big time lean (over 13) at low RPMs. Then it dives down to big time rich (off the charts rich) at higher RPMs.

a cammed 05 stang picked up to 308 rwtq from 275 rwtq just by dialing in fuel.

his HP went from 7200 rpm and 318 rwhp to 6700 and 337 rwhp just from fuel. i watched it with my own eyes.

Yeah I know I'm excited to see what happens from the changes.

I read on a titan forum it was 262 rwhp on a titan that was a supercrew 4wd. This was stock with no modifications.

So all the mods netted a max of 10-21hp.

Just FYI.

Curious to see what the $$ to HP-gained ratio would be?

Has anyone chassis dyno’ed a stock motor?
My truck made 204 at the wheels stock. Plus he is going to have more drivetrain loss due to his truck is 4wd. So, it looks like about $1k in mods for a 30-40hp gain. Drop 5 times that much money into it any you'll get roughly 5 times the gains.
