Im not sure if anyone is interested or not but I thought I would post up some pics of the new Putco hybird 5" oval nerf bars I got. They are a really nice wide step, and look great I think! Definatly keep the door dings away. If anyone decides they want different pics of them id be happy to get them. Not to sure how to get the pics up in the post so here are the links

They sure look nice! Resembles the newer factory NERF's. I like the wide oval design and the recessed molded anti-slip areas. They really add to your truck. What was own there before? BoB

 

Thanks! thats partly why i got them was i loved the look of the steps on the 250's. I actually didnt have a step before i got these, i wasnt going to get steps and then i saw these. The step pads are great, but when they are wett if you arent sure footed they are slicker than snot.

 

They look superb and are cheaper than the genuine Ford (DeeZee] ones .. .. .. even though they look near identical.

hmfic--I been lookin for a red fx4 that had just the door handles in chrome, and I have to say they do look good on the truck. Also how do you like the edge??

 

What is the actual style name of these bars? The only thing I saw was "Boss" are they the same? I love the look, just like OEM! Just wondering why you didn't get the OEM, I am in the process of getting bars right now and love the look and solid build of the OEM. Most of the after market are junk as far as I can tell from web pix. I do like yours though!

I called the dealership and the "best, special, absolute rock bottom super duper price" they gave me for the 5" OEM was $470 OTD. That is actually cheaper than yours so I want to know if you, or anyone else, have compared the quality between the two.

 

I never really compared the quality. Everyonce and a while id stop by the ford dealer and check out the ones coming on the f150's and f250's. My truck didnt come with step bars, and i wasnt ever going to get any till i was prompted too. they are really lightweight (which i thought was odd) and did actually cost alot The actual name is Putco Hybrid 5" Oval Step Bar. I never thought to call my dealership, really my dealer seems to just be a bunch of older guys who are hard to work with b/c they dont really care for "modding" so i rarely give them a thought for anything.
