RAFA26 needs help with TWIN-TURBO set-up.
Hi guys, here is the situation, my forged GT-40 Aluminum engine, JDM ported heads, factory tech transmission(monsterbox) and torque converter, PST Carbon-fiber driveshaft, GordsFord 38" heat exchanger, Brembo brakes etc...will be done very soon.
I know the Whipple 2.3L will never take me to 1000RWHP and i considering a Twin-Turbo set-up. I talked to http://www.proturbokits.com this afternoon and they suggested me this set-up:
Twin 66mm turbos 1400max power, twin turbosmart wastegates and a single tial50 bov. This package will most likely have twin 3" downpipes + air to water intercooler.
I have very basic knowledge about turbos. I am concerned about torque in low RPM's but i think those twins can spool early.
If you have any experience and knowledge about Twin-Turbos, let me know what you think about the set-up they suggested me. Any comment will be trully appreciated.
Thanks.

Twins, will by far allow you to reach the potential horsepower you want to achieve. The downside to an automatic twin turbo horsepower plant would be the initial rpms's. Your biggest drainer would be the amount of time it would take to boost, especially when driving from a roll. But with that torque converter you should be allright and besides when those turbos spool up, hold on cause your going for a ride!!! There really is no comparison when looking at the potential turbos can make vs. roots superchargers especially at the same boost levels. I love turbos, keep us posted because that baby is going to haul ***!!!

You would not have any issues with turbo spool at all. On Johny's truck it spools very fast. With the KB you will have to be very careful to get a good launch. With the turbos things can be dialed in. I have submitted several turbo graphs that show the HP and TQ curves being much steeper that the KB or whipple.
Here is a dyno where Johny pegged the dyno (remember this is still 2v).
the pull was a roll and not a full throttle mash

Rafa,
Trust me on this, you need to go to Heffner Performance. This guy is the best of the best, Jason Heffner has done TT Gallardo''s, Ford GT's, Viper's, and so on. www.heffnersperformance.com
This guy will be doing my dad's Viper next year and he is truely a pioneer in the industry. If he too rich for your blood I would do Livernois(esp.).
