That looks cool.I've been thinking about doing that to my cargo/brake lights too.I probably will now that I know how good it looks. It should flow w/ my Harley tail lights.

How much light does it restrict? Cuz inthe pics it looks to really make it very dim. If theres one thing I really like about the 3rd light cluster is that it produces A LOT of light at night after exiting the truck.

I did this to my 4rd brake light in june and it is holding up great! I used 3 coats of the VHT Nite Shades and then applied 2 more coats of one of VHT's clearcoats so that the Nite Shades wouldn't wear or wash off (since I heard that could happen if not cleared).

i thought it could also be applied to the inside of the lens. if you removed the lens and sprayed the inside, clearing would be pointless, no?

I did the same.
1. First clean and sand the lens with 1,000 grit wet/dry paper keeping thing very wet. Sanding is critical as it provides a great surface for the VHT to adhere to.
2. Apply 3 coats of VHT letting the paint 'dry' about 10' between coats.
3. Sand with wet 2,000 grit paper
4. Spray with at least 3 coats of clear coat
5. Sand clear coat with 2,000 wet paper keeping things really wet.
6. Finally, polished the clear coat with plastic/plexiglass polish (either machine buffing or hand buffing works). The clear coat sealing prevents 'blueing' of the VHT Nite Shade.
7. Wax with your choice of waxes.

This method is totally cool. Looks great on my Black FX4.
