There are a few guys around me with plows on the 04+ F150's, 2 reg cabs, 2 supercabs, and 1 supercrew that I can think of. Granted a Superduty will handle the job much better, and if you are planning on doing any commercial (sp?) work don't use an F150. But if you are just going to be doing you personal stuff you should be fine.
If it were me I would look at a Snoway or Western Suburbanite, they are very nice plows. The suburbanite is supposed to weigh less than 300lbs, and the Snoway go 340-600 lbs.

A local city uses 04 shortbed 4x4s with meyer plows. I know 2 guys with Boss plows on there scabs. These trucks can take the weight and stress of a plow, as long as you dont drive like a total dope. I have plowed with a 87 S-10 4x4 for years now. My uncle has a 89 Bronco II (baby bronco). People who say F-150s cant plow dont know what there talking about. Sure they are not as beefy as a superduty, but they can still plow just fine and will last as long.

Always go the opposite of what Mountaineer02V8 says. Always!!!!
This is a truck, remember.
If a jeep XJ (Cherokee) can plow snow then this F150 can. These trucks can do far more than tow your pleasure boat to the launch ramp. Work it like a truck, the truck you bought.
Just remember that skinny tires work better in snowy conditions that fat ones. Thats one thing that I learned duing my tour of duty in Germany.

remember 1 thing guys, just because u can do something (like plow with a half ton truck i.e. f150) it doesnt meen it is the best idea to do it. thats just my opinion tho i would never plow with a light duty truck. it puts alot of stress on alot of parts.
allrsdup,
no one is taking aim at you. (btw GREAT looking rig, damn). Right some, would never attempt to plow with an automatic transmission. Right thing to do in some cases. But I know from experience that in this particular situation that the F150 can handle the task. No, its not a commerical rig but it will get the job done just fine in about 6-8" on standing snow.

I had a 7.5' Sno-way on my '00 Dodge Ram 1500... plowed like a dream. I traded that truck in for my '06 Scab 5.4L and I added the same plow to it. Weighs in at about 400lbs. I have measured the truck with it on and off... only about a 1/2" to 3/4" drop when added... I spoke to the dealer when buying this truck and with the "snow-plow prep package" your warranty is NOT voided... If ya wanna see, pics are in my profile.
